CITY OF BELOIT Purchasing/Inventory Specialist in BELOIT, Wisconsin

JOB REQUIREMENTS: The City of Beloit has an exciting opportunity available as the Purchasing/Inventory Specialist in the Operations Division of the Public Works Department. The Purchasing/Inventory Specialist performs advanced administrative and fiscal support work with regard to inventory management in the Department of Public Works. Duties typically include, administrative accounting activities, processing invoices and purchase orders related to the acquisition of materials and equipment, research and analysis, budget tracking, project reporting, inventory management and reconciliation. Responsibilities necessitate a strong understanding of the application and uses of inventory/products within a public works setting. Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 1. A valid driver\'s license and satisfactory driving record. 2. A valid Lift Truck Certification or the ability to obtain within six (6) months of hire. 3. Associate\'s Degree from an accredited College/University with major course work in business or public administration or a related field. 4. A minimum of two (2) years of office experience, preferably with experience in purchasing and inventory management . 5. Valid ICS 100 and 700 Certifications from the National Incident Management System or the ability to obtain said certifications within twelve (12) months of hire. 6. Other combinations of training and/or experience which can be demonstrated to result in the possession of the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform the duties of this position will also be considered.
