Description Company- Astound Broadband Position Overview: Astound Broadband is currently searching for a Field Deployment Engineer in our Washington Market, including Seattle, Bellevue, Redmond, Lynnwood, Bellingham, Tacoma, Olympia, and Bremerton. This position is responsible for performing troubleshooting, administration, installation, and maintenance of the company's and customer's internet access backbone infrastructure equipment. Execute as an active member of the Network Deployment team, taking on troubleshooting, administration, installation, and maintenance of the company's and customer's access infrastructure equipment, i.e. CMTS, routers, servers, modems, and other computer and network-related equipment. The primary position responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Perform Site Surveys - identify build pathways and provide solutions for wireless deployment Vendor Management - engineering and construction - obtain BID documents from vendors with assistance from Supervisor or higher level Engineer Communicate Project Schedules and Coordination - Property Management, Customers, Internal Team, and Vendors Building Inspections and PMI's - new and existing - perform PMI's and correct potential issues Network Equipment Installation and Troubleshooting: Millimeter wave and microwave equipment Routers and switches Cable placement - terminations and splicing - optical fiber and copper Wi-Fi equipment - indoor-outdoor Basic DC/AC installation, knowledge and best practices As-Built and documentation - create build history/document and upload to the internal database Basic fiber splicing and installation Part of a 24/7 on-call rotation Various tasks and special projects assigned by manager associated with the organization and company with the emphasis of driving efficiency and optimization Other duties as assigned Our ideal candidate will possess: 1 year experience with LAN and WAN Technology 1 year Project Management Experience 1 year experience with microwave and millimeter wave components Basic to Intermediate experience is required in the following areas: physical, data-link and network protocols and architectures; routers, firewalls and switches; system load balancing and redundant system architecture Basic experience with LAN and WAN Technology Basic experience with microwave and millimeter wave components Basic knowledge of DC components and best practices Knowledge of types of status monitoring systems and the ability to implement them Basic to Intermediate experience is required in the following areas: Physical, data-link and network protocols and architectures Routers Firewalls and switches System load balancing and redundant system architecture Ability to set up and/or design simple to complex network involving wireless equipment, Cisco switches and routers Ability to diagnose and solve problems Ability to follow direction and possesses the ability to follow through Must enjoy the challenge of technical concepts and communicate those concepts at varying levels Ability to work in fast-paced and dynamic environments with limited supervision Strong attention to detail with excellent time management and organization skills Ability to work in fast-paced and dynamic environments with limited supervision Ability to work independently Ability to work in a team atmosphere Strong leadership and motivational skills Ability to work while standing 50 - 70% of the time Ability to lift 50lbs repeatedly Ability to work with small components and wires to make cable connections Ability to make cable connections in tight spaces by bending, reaching, twisting Ability to differentiate between different sizes and colors of wires Vision ability: close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus Must have basic mathematics techniques A
