Amazon Technical Program Manager - PIVT Development, Power and Industrial Vehicle Technologies (PIVT) in Bellevue, Washington

The Powered Industrial Vehicle Technology (PIVT) Team is seeking a dynamic development Technical Program Manager for Amazon’s growing fleet of Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) and related technologies for the world-wide Fulfillment Center network. This candidate will be supporting and leading projects for the Customer Fulfillment Organization and should be willing to dive in head-first, and help a high-performing team manage complex dependencies, project timelines, and technical specifications. The PIVT team supports the World Wide Services Engineering organization in deployment of advanced technology on Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT) and related material handling equipment (MHE). This position requires the ability to innovate, and implement process improvement projects to improve safety and efficiency of our fulfillment centers.

Successful candidates will be natural self-starters who has Program Management experience and understand fulfillment center operations. This role will support the deployment of multiple PIT technology programs, and their integration with various Amazon infrastructure. Candidates must be able to work with high technical detail, as well as communicate high-level strategic direction to non-technical stakeholders.

Key job responsibilities

-Understand, educate, and enforce technical standards and specifications with internal and external partners.

-Manage implementation plan and partner with FC resources and vendors to deploy technologies in Amazon Fulfillment centers.

-Act as advocate for PIVT programs with internal stakeholders

-Evaluate current working procedures and tools and identify areas to streamline the process to make it more customer friendly.

-Act as subject matter experts for development technologies within Amazon, educating our vendor base on guidelines and ensuring compliance.

-Define forward looking strategy for long term development programs.

-Coordinate and engage with different teams across the network to accomplish projects.

-Conducting standing meetings/calls with internal stakeholders to discuss change requests and provide status updates.

-Develop and roll-out standard work.

-Identify and manage project risks.

-Approximately 50% travel requirement

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of technical product or program management experience

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience and familiarity with Powered Industrial Equipment such as Fork Lifts, Elevated Work Platforms, and other warehouse equipment.

  • Experience with AGV's/AMR's and the relevant governing standards.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $114,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $197,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
