Chewy Staff Content Designer - Storefront in Bellevue, Washington

We are seeking a Staff Content Designer - Core Shopping in Bellevue, WA | Boston, MA | Minneapolis, MN | Plantation, FL to join the Chewy Content Design team. The ideal candidates will be excellent design thinkers, writers and editors who use content to translate customer and business needs into well-crafted products. You know how to shape the voice of a product and deliver on content that enables pet parents to accomplish their goals in the most elegant and enjoyable way possible.  

Chewy’s Content Design team uses content to solve problems and create a cohesive experience across the entire Chewy ecosystem. As a content designer at Chewy, you will help pet parents find just the right toys, food, and medicine to help keep them happy and healthy. You will support pet parents who are looking for their next pet, buying an insurance plan or using veterinary telemedicine. You will also contribute directly to content design documentation and processes to take Chewy’s content to the next level.

What You’ll Do:

  • Transform customer and business objectives into compelling products that have purpose, simplicity, and are feasible to build.

  • Lead innovative and systems thinking across a range of products, platforms, and devices with a bias for action and a customer focus.

  • Guide the content design process for your projects from end to end: Discovery and concept ideation, flows and proto-content, and full-fidelity designs.

  • Collaborate with product managers, developers, content strategists, user researchers, and other designers.

  • Champion cohesion and consistency to unite a growing family of products while building a culture of invention and innovation.

  • Clearly present your content design process, inspiration, and decisions to stakeholders, including C-suite executives.

  • Nurture Chewy’s culture and principles within the content design team and set new standards for executional and operational excellence.

What You’ll Need:

  • 7+ years of experience with user experience writing, content strategy, content design, or similar

  • 4+ years of experience leading large-scale content initiatives across multiple customer touchpoints, such as user interface copy, email, and help content

  • A track record of delivering high-quality UI copy that delivered results and demonstrates the depth of your skills as a problem-solver and writer, illustrated in a portfolio or case studies

  • Achieved mastery of a core set of design skills in content strategy, UX writing, and information architecture

  • Demonstrated communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills that clearly communicate complex concepts across different audiences and levels of the organization

  • A proven ability to evaluate the customer and business impact of your design decisions inside and outside your own product area

  • Bachelor’s Degree (English, Communications, Design, or HCI preferred) or equivalent work experience within a related field

  • Position may require travel and will require time in the local office.

Compensation & Benefits:

The salary range for this position is $156,000-$255,000. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate’s relevant experience, education, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for 401k and a new hire and annual equity grant.

Non-exempt hourly team members accrue paid time off (PTO) while salaried-exempt team members have unlimited PTO, subject to manager approval. Non-exempt hourly team members in Fulfillment Centers and Customer Service are also eligible for additional unplanned unpaid time off (UTO). Team members will receive six paid holidays per year. Team members may be eligible for paid sick and family leave in compliance with applicable state and local regulations.
