Amazon Sr. Program Manager, AMXL Sustainability in Bellevue, Washington

Description

We are looking for a candidate with a strong record of owning and executing strategic, cross-functional projects as well as partnering with other teams to drive infrastructure sustainability programs and goals for AMXL in line with the highest standards.

You will partner with various teams (fleet, design, real estate, pre-construction, engineering, corporate sustainability, field operations) and other internal stakeholders to create, delegate and deliver on carbon reduction initiatives. You will be responsible for yearly (OP1/2) goals and driving abatement initiatives across Last Mile, Middle Mile and First Mile Operations of AMXL to meet those goals. This role will help establish mechanisms to scale our work and identify highest areas of opportunity to drive reductions to meet the Climate Pledge goal of net zero carbon by 2040. Lastly, you will be managing periodic reviews and reporting our progress across various initiatives.

Key job responsibilities

  • Own the sustainability initiatives and programs for AMXL buildings

  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to build and execute product and program roadmaps.

  • Align stakeholders on a shared vision and defined milestones, advocating for resources to accomplish plan.

  • Accelerate progress by driving timely decisions, surfacing and mitigating risks, and escalating appropriately.

  • Develop scalable and effective mechanisms for reviewing, managing, and reporting on product/program roadmaps.

  • Improve metrics/reporting for how we calculate actual carbon emissions across all AMXL operations.

  • Possess a deep understanding of worldwide sustainability initiatives, region specific policies/subsidies, and carbon abatement technologies in transportation space.

  • Up to 10% travel required.

A day in the life

  • Own the strategic plan and drive it with central/support teams to deliver plan

  • Create process and mechanisms to facilitate the tracking and execution of the goal

  • Create budget and timeline creation, with ROI impact

  • Hold alignment meetings and working sessions with stakeholders

  • Provide monthly updates to leadership

  • Educate stakeholders on the plan and the importance of the plan

  • Explore options available to achieve goals

  • Be up to date on sustainability trends

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of program or project management experience

  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

  • Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

  • Knowledge of Excel at an intermediate level (e.g., pivot tables & charts, multiple criteria lookups, nested logical/IF formulas, data cleansing, array formulas, etc.)

  • Knowledge of Sustainability best practices as it relates to building and infrastructure.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of driving process improvements experience

  • Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field

  • 2+ years of change management experience

  • 2+ years of delivering cross functional projects experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $104,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
