Senior Engineer - Risk-Informed Design and Licensing TerraPower, LLC. Is seeking a highly motivated Senior Engineer for the Risk-Informed Design and Licensing (RIDL) team on TerraPower's advanced nuclear reactor projects. In this role, you will be part of our dynamic team focused on implementing the NEI 18-04 methodology for non-light water reactor (non-LWR) design and licensing basis development. Reporting to the Manager of Risk-Informed Design and Licensing, the Senior Engineer will play a crucial role in supporting technical oversight, analysis, and coordination activities to ensure the safe and efficient deployment of advanced nuclear technologies. Responsibilities Collaborate closely with the Manager of Risk-Informed Design and Licensing to provide technical support and expertise in the implementation of NEI 18-04 methodology for non-LWR design and licensing activities. Assist in the development, review, and approval of licensing basis documents, ensuring alignment with NEI 18-04 guidelines and regulatory requirements. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to integrate NEI 18-04 analyses and findings into licensing documentation and project design activities. Prepare technical presentations, reports, and documentation on NEI 18-04 methodologies, analysis results, and compliance status. Proactively monitor regulatory developments and industry trends related to NEI 18-04, identifying opportunities for process improvement and adaptation. Participate in training programs and workshops to enhance team understanding of NEI 18-04 methodology and risk analysis techniques. Key Qualifications and Skills Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or a related technical field from an accredited university. Advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) preferred. Minimum 6 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 3 years and a Master's degree, with a strong background in risk analysis, licensing activities, and regulatory compliance. Demonstrated proficiency in conducting or supporting methods for technical analyses, including risk assessments, probabilistic risk assessments (PRA), and safety analyses. Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and standards relevant to nuclear safety and licensing (e.g., NRC regulations, ASME codes, NQA-1). Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information effectively to diverse audiences.
