Amazon Senior Category Manager - Procurement, 3PL, External Fulfillment NA in Bellevue, Washington
Description
We are seeking a talented Category Manager to play an instrumental role in building strategic third-party external fulfillment relationships (3PL) to supplement Amazon fulfillment and storage capacity. The role will interface with end to end fulfillment partners creating strategic connections to meet network requirements on an annual basis. This manager will be external facing to 3PL fulfillment providers and will act as a liaison to internal AFN stakeholders.
As a Category Manager, you will create and own the strategic relationship with third-party logistic providers (3PLs) and senior internal stakeholders. You will ensure continuity of supply by developing 3PLs to service every instance of the fulfillment network from storage to fulfillment and in some instances transportation. You will develop holistic solutions with 3PL to meet topology, service, customer experience, speed, flexibility, and ultimately cost to serve requirements. You will drive key sourcing activities in collaboration with network partners ensuring network resiliency. This role will require a level of innovation to solve on behalf of our customers, consistently breaking perceived solution constraints
We are seeking a leader with procurement and operations experience to build a network of strategically sourced 3PL solutions capable of meeting Amazon network requirements. The position will work and partner with multiple teams to develop and execute category sourcing strategies and processes, deliver savings and improve productivity.
Key job responsibilities
Build a resilient 3PL supplier ecosystem creating resiliency, flexibility, and incremental capacity when required
Identify, develop and deliver long term sourcing strategies while leading sourcing initiatives with cross-functional teams
Drive the decision-making process with senior leadership to improve 3PL EF category management.
Drive commercial relationships with suppliers, with a principal objective of achieving Amazon service and customer experience with improved cost and performance
Lead supplier performance management; including improving sustainability and social responsibility
Coordinate and collaborate with operational teams to deploy and manage the implementation of your defined strategies.
25% travel including occasional international travel

Gather business needs and elaborate the most optimal sourcing strategy to secure on timely manner the capacity, minimizing Total Cost of Ownership and risk
Leverage existing procurement resources to benefit our internal customers
Own commercial relationship with third-party logistic providers
About the team
GPO 3PL External Fulfillment procurement is focused on delivering solutions and services to the AFN by building a strong 3PL network supplier base. Our team aims to fulfill at 1P speed, service and customer experience and providing advantages in cost and flexibility. Our team strives to be THE control tower for 3PL EF procurement support to our stakeholders. We continue to innovate and find ways to move faster and more efficiently to deliver capacity in to Amazon Customer fulfillment network
Key stakeholders include various teams within Network Planning, Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, Legal and others.
Basic Qualifications
5+ years of supply chain experience
Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
Bachelor's degree
2+ years procurement experience
Preferred Qualifications

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $103,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $181,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
