Description

Amazon Artificial General Intelligence is hiring for a principal product manager to lead the policy and risk workstreams. Join us in building AI models that are safe and worthy of Amazon customers' trust. We are looking for a passionate, and experienced leader to define policies for our AI development, and connect our efforts to industry standards and evolving regulations. This individual will have a deep understanding of the lifecycle of industry standards and regulatory frameworks design, and have a working understanding of AI/ML technology issues.

As a successful candidate, you have specialized experience developing, communicating, and advocating policies and a working understanding the complexities and lifecycle of global industry standards. Success in the role will be defined by defining and implementing a flexible, risk-based approach to the development and use of AI/ML models that simplifies compliance and accelerates customer adoption of our models. This role will also be responsible for developing concise and actionable thought leadership positions that will be used to facilitate internal discussion and alignment across business teams, assurance teams, and the industry standards at-large. You will also be expected to develop and influence external positions in larger regulatory context to advocate effectively for our customers.

You will act as a leader who can prioritize well, communicate clearly to different audiences (e.g. technical, government, executive), and have a consistent track record of delivery. You are proactive in removing roadblocks, pave the way for innovation, and handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. You will be a positive influencer across diverse teams, be able to effectively rally support for your initiatives and be able to help others drive simple, scalable solutions to meet customer expectations. You are able to handle business escalations with a data-driven approach.

Key job responsibilities

  • Develop policy content that informs model development, regulatory authorities, address security risks, and can be adopted by our customers.

  • Establish credibility and maintain strong working relationships with groups involved with responsible AI/ML (AWS Security, Legal, Business Development, Public Policy, etc.).

  • Engage with the industry through various mechanisms including contributions to standards, and speaking engagements as appropriate.

  • Define, execute and track projects plans with tight deadlines, drive for results, while being detail oriented.

About the team

Amazon AGI Team builds the most capable Foundation Models using which teams across Amazon and beyond leverage to build Generative AI Applications across several different modalities, and capabilities. This position will be part of the AGI Product team that is responsible for leading the product function for AGI.

Basic Qualifications

  • 10+ years of product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology experience

  • 10+ years of blending product and program management skills to execute strategic initiatives about process creation, standardization, and improvement experience

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition

  • Experience with end to end product delivery

  • Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product

  • Experience as a product manager or owner

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience owning technology products

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $145,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $240,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
