Electrochemist - Agency Contract TerraPower, LLC is seeking to contract with a highly motivated Electrochemist. You will play a direct and pivotal role in conducting experiments related to the Molten Chloride Fast Reactor (MCFR) technology. This position requires active engagement at the intersection of nuclear reactor development and innovative waste reduction technologies. We are seeking a candidate with a demonstrated proficiency in laboratory capabilities, particularly in experimental design and implementation. In this role, you will serve as a key technical contributor on various project endeavors. Collaboration is essential, as this position interfaces with a dynamic, cross-functional, multi-cultural, and interdisciplinary team. Effective communication, teamwork, and collaboration are critical, with an emphasis on maintaining composure to ensure safety, data quality, and enable timely decision-making. Key responsibilities include hands-on contributions to experiment design, execution, and data analysis on chloride-based molten salt systems. These activities directly address gaps in our understanding of molten salt chemistry, crucial for the transition to a demonstration reactor program. General expectations for the position encompass actinide salt synthesis, salt analysis and characterization, as well as thermodynamic, kinetic, redox, and stability property measurements of actinides and fission products in high-temperature molten salts.
