Amazon is growing its multimodal capabilities through expanding its Amazon Intermodal (AZIM) mode in Middle-Mile network. AZIM is building systems and capabilities to ensure that we deliver our customers’ freight, no matter how large or small, as quickly, accurately, and cost effectively as possible. To support AZIM meet its goal, ATS Tech Finance is looking for an experienced Finance Manager to provide finance thought leadership to the leaders across product and tech, sales, and operations leaders.

The role will require an individual to deep dive into business input drivers, dive into complex data pool, and use insights to influence business decisions. The role is ideally suited for a candidate who has demonstrated an exceptional financial modeling and statistical analysis and strong verbal and written skills.

If you like taking a larger scope identifying the most cost effective and safest way to deliver to our customer you will enjoy transportation. This entire system has to move like a symphony and it has to be orchestrated. It is an incredible math problem that we have to solve; we have to put statistics and financial models behind it. In this role you will have a high level of visibility and partner with cross functional teams. We help others understand finance and are the trusted business advisors to our business teams.

We are looking for a leader who exhibits excellent attention to detail and is comfortable with ambiguity. The successful candidate will demonstrate an ability to influence business owners, support thoughtful decision-making, and adapt to a rapidly evolving environment. Regular collaboration with executives and various business units across Amazon will allow you the opportunity to exhibit your verbal and written communication skills. A typical day in this role provides an opportunity to improve and create new measures for business effectiveness, innovate creative solutions utilizing large scale data mining tools, and identify high priority projects to maximize results for key stakeholders.

Key job responsibilities

  • Own and generate insightful reports for business leaders, aiding strategic decision-making through weekly (WBR), monthly (MBR), and quarterly (QBR) reviews. Provide detailed analysis of input drivers behind variances to the plan, offering actionable recommendations for optimization.

  • Lead financial reviews of AZIM and IM-External, delivering insights on variances, tech entitlements, and asset utilizations. Develop monthly reports on financial metrics (ROIC, NPV, PBP, IRR), offering clear visibility and guidance to finance and business leaders.

  • Collaborate with L7+ leaders to leading development of leadership goals. Drive the financial goals through monthly reviews and driving actions across tech, product, sales, and operations teams.

  • Own the integration of AZIM Financial Reporting mechanisms with the FP&A Consolidation and partner finance teams, ensuring seamless communication and streamlined monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.

  • Identify opportunities to resolve defects proactively and improves, scales, or simplify finance tools across teams and organizations.

  • Collaborate with the Standardization and Automation team on driving automated reporting projects for AZIM and External IM.

  • Perform Month End Close tasks such as accruals and rebate calculation and submitting them with Accounting Partners.

  • Drive actions derived from finance and business reviews across the organization.

  • Have backbone, disagree and commit to foster constructive dialogues, harmonize conflicting views, resolve issues, and drive decisions.

Basic Qualifications

  • BA or BS in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a highly analytical field (e.g., Engineering, Math, Computer Science)

  • 5+ years of finance experience, or Master’s degree and 3+ years of finance experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA (or Equivalent) or MBA or Master’s degree or CFA and 3+ years of finance experience

  • Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results

  • Demonstrable Finance experience, with ability to partner with senior leadership, and produce analyses that aids strategic decision-making

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel experience working with large-scale data mining, and using reporting tools (i.e. Excel, ETL, SQL, Tableau)

  • 5+ Experience in building and managing financial models for business forecasting and problem solving

  • Strategic thinker with a results-driven mindset and a passion for driving continuous improvement and innovation

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $81,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
