As a BI Engineer, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Alexa’s mobile experience. You’ll collaborate with Product Managers, BI/Data Engineers, and Data Scientists to build cutting-edge data products that unlock invaluable insights and drive strategic decision-making. Key job responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Product Managers, Data Engineers, and Business Analysts to design, implement, and support high-quality BI solutions, including reports, dashboards, and data visualizations.

  • Partner with data engineers to ensure the ingestion of relevant datasets into the organization's data-warehouse and/or data lake for BI and analytics purposes.

  • Develop and maintain robust data models, ETL processes, and data warehousing solutions to support efficient and reliable BI operations.

  • Leverage and manage BI tools like Amazon Quicksight to deliver insightful analytics and data visualizations.

  • Conduct training sessions and knowledge-sharing sessions to educate stakeholders on BI product capabilities, best practices, and data literacy.

About the team

The Alexa Mobile BI team is the BI/Analytics team that supports the Alexa Mobile business. We are responsible for building data products (datasets, dashboards, ML models) and the underlying data platform, that enable the business to make informed decisions.

We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:

Bellevue, WA, USA

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience

  • Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools

  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines

  • Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab

  • Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift

  • Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $89,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
