Title: Senior DevOps Engineer

Location: Belgrade, Serbia - Hybrid

Department: DCS Operations Team

Role Overview:

Our DevOps Engineers focus on streamlining the software development lifecycle, ensuring efficient code deployment, continuous integration, and reliable system operations. As a Senior DevOps Engineers you will play a pivotal role in maintaining high availability, scalability, and security of our applications and infrastructure.

Position Responsibilities Summary:

  • Define and manage infrastructure components in code.

  • Set up and manage monitoring tools.

  • Ensure the highest levels of systems availability.

  • Provide systems support including responding to monitoring alerts.

  • Ensure seamless releases to production.

  • Database administration and manipulation.

  • Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines.

  • Implement security best practices.

  • Collaborate with security teams.

  • Ensure compliance with security standards.

  • Facilitate cross-functional teamwork.

  • Participate in a shared on-call rotation.

  • Documentation: writes knowledge articles and other documentation

  • Azure Cloud environment implementation and maintenance

General Responsibilities:

  • Serving as the functional escalation point for the DCS Support L2 team, leading to the problem resolution. Managing, and owning tickets from start to end in the NCR incident management system (ensuring closure of all incident and problem records).

  • Work in close coordination with the development and operations team such that the application is in line with performance according to the customer's (both internal and external) expectation.

  • Analyzing service history and health to provide improved service enhancement recommendations. Proactively recommending improvements to support processes and practices.

  • Coordinate and develop problem isolation plans and/or personally solve customer problems when appropriate; Assemble and assess solution alternatives;

  • Participate in team meetings and activities; Participate in objective setting, performance management, reward, and recognition programs; Participate in special projects to continuously improve processes, tools, systems, and organization in accordance with the NCR Voyix improvement approach

Education and/or Requirements Required:

  • The incumbent should possess minimum associate or bachelor’s degree in computer science and/or proven work experience

  • Candidates must have proven excellent communications and interpersonal skills

  • Candidates should have strong organizational acumen

  • Candidates should have ad hoc process understanding

Skill Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of operating systems (Windows, Linux..), networking, hardware and software

  • Strong batch/Bash scripting, VB Scripting skills, Windows Command line tools and utilities, PowerShell Scripting

  • Experience with database administration

  • Experience with virtualization and containerization

  • Strong understanding and knowledge of container orchestration tools

  • Strong understanding and knowledge of IaaS automation tools

  • Azure Cloud experience

  • Networking knowledge (OSI network layers, TCP/IP)

  • Experience with monitoring systems

  • Works constructively and collaboratively with other team members and across organizations to accomplish organizational goals and objectives. Applies methodologies, processes, and tools to enhance work effectiveness and to implement process improvements. Leverages experiences and acquires and shares new skills and knowledge to enhance organizational capability and individual competence.
