Role involves collaborating on value engineering, transferring parts from HCC to BCC, performing verification/ validation activities and part qualifications. Assisting suppliers in achieving quality standards, managing supplier performance, and conducting audits. Key tasks include material analysis, obsolescence management, failure analysis, design for cost, and ensuring compliance with regulations.

Job Description

Roles & Responsibility –

  • Value Engineering:

  • Identify opportunities to reduce the ICV (cost) of the product.

  • Works with VCP team and/or technical leadership to ensure that the technical deliverables are consistent with the goals of larger programs, projects or initiatives

  • Design electronics/electrical circuits, perform analysis to meet the requirements as specified. Perform board level testing and verification and system level testing and verification to ensure fault free product delivery.

  • Identify and work with domestic and international suppliers to deliver units in time, resolve issues in the manufacturing line, process improvements etc.

  • Design of Analog and/or Digital (may include FPGAs) electrical circuit boards, components and interconnects

  • Analyzing and validating material/component selection, tolerances, performance, cost, manufacturability whenever required.

  • Conduct design studies for new and existing products to maintain performance while reducing costs.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize product value and performance.

  • Improve designs to meet all requirements for performance, reliability, serviceability, cost and manufacturability.

  • Ensure design maintain compliance to EMC, thermal, and all documented performance/requirements.

  • Concurrently manage multiple assignments and meet the schedules.

  • Document technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures

  • Work within the guidelines of applicable GE Healthcare Policies & Procedures, Engineering Standards, Product Definition Operating Procedures, Specifications, Government and Commercial Standards, and special security requirements

  • Desired Characteristics

  • Manage supplier development including assisting key suppliers towards QA. Support suppliers in reaching optimum quality and industrial standards of excellence.

  • Supplier development, Part development as per project timelines meeting quality requirements in strong collaboration with Sourcing, Engineering Manufacturing team.

  • Developing in-depth knowledge of a discipline. Uses prior experience and acquired expertise to execute functional policy/strategy.

  • Impacts projects, processes and procedures in own field. The role operates with some autonomy but is focused on execution of activities/provision of advice within an enabling discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures. Activities require professional judgment but may require more senior levels of guidance.

  • Utilizes technical expertise and judgement to solve problems. Leverages technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems. May use multiple internal sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions.

  • Knowledge of UL/ETL/IEC standards and how they apply to designs

  • Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronics/ Electrical engineering.

  • Strong technical experience with 6 + years in Electronics (PWA/PWB), Electrical component (Cable & Harness, Transformers, Capacitors etc) in Supplier Quality is must.

  • Knowledge of IPC 620, IPC 610 standards.

  • Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of current and emerging technologies.

  • Quality and Compliance: Adherence to GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, and relevant regulations. Complete Quality & Compliance training within deadlines. Proactively identify and report quality concerns, with immediate corrective action. Support regulatory and quality compliance before completing design outputs. Participate in continuous improvement activities to address process and product quality gaps.
