We currently have an opportunity for an Area Medical Director - China.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

The Area Medical Director will help lead the China Medical Affairs and R&D organizations that supports our business within China. Leads a team of medical directors in being medical representative to the in-country medical community and professional societies. This position will initiate the strategy and direct the implementation of research and development of assay products, medical education, medical customer engagement, health advocacy, clinical trials and be the medical expert for the entire region. This will include managing and working with Marketing on promotional activities, Commercial on customer engagement, and Finance in budget management.

Responsibilities include :

  • Provide leadership and direction over the Medical Affairs and R&D organization

  • Development and distribution of educational symposiums, lectures, materials and engagements

  • Engage with policymakers, Key Opinion Leaders, and strategic customers.

  • Along with other medical affairs and R&D staff, serve as Abbott representative to the medical and scientific community and key opinion leaders

  • Help guide and interface with the Medical and Scientific Research teams in selecting research sites, conducting studies and helping to establish studies.

  • Works in collaboration with Marketing and Commercial to harmonize the customer experience through medical and scientific engagements, as aligned to medical strategy.

  • Promotes and upholds the Abbott Quality and Compliance guidelines

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING

Required:

  • MD Degree required

  • 5+ years clinical experience

Preferred:

  • Strong organization, communication and ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment

  • Previous experience with leading teams, developing strategic plans and collaborative initiatives

  • Knowledge and workings of IVD, medical laboratories or assay development

  • Understanding the complex medical, clinical, regulatory and quality environments.
