Description

We are currently on the search for a Staff Accountant to become an integral part of our team in the banking industry, based in Bedminster, New Jersey. The selected candidate will be tasked with handling a variety of accounting responsibilities, including responding to queries from various operational areas, evaluating their impact on the financial statements, and ensuring accurate financial records.

Responsibilities

• Address and resolve accounting and operational issues from various operational areas such as Loan, Deposit/Escrow, Wealth and Treasury Management

• Assess the impact of these issues on the Bank's financial statements

• Record the monthly revenue of Peapack Private Wealth Management

• Monitor the Bank's reciprocal deposit program

• Complete the quarterly CECL Key Control Log for ACL and AQR

• Perform quarterly valuation and analysis of the Bank's interest rate swaps and Loan Level swaps

• Handle tasks related to Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Carry out bank reconciliations and manage the general ledger

• Prepare and post journal entries

• Contribute to the month-end close process

• Utilize various accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

• Proficiency in conducting Bank Reconciliations.

• Solid experience in maintaining and managing the General Ledger.

• Expertise in preparing and posting Journal Entries.

• Demonstrated ability to complete Month End Close procedures.

• Excellent analytical skills with an attention to detail.

• Strong time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.

• Solid understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
