Department Summary:
The Mission Enabled Software Systems Department in the Software Engineering Innovation Center is seeking a Senior Engineer to support its diverse technical work programs. This individual will have an opportunity to have an impact across a number of sponsor outcomes, influence strategic direction, and identify and shape new opportunities in diverse domains ranging from strengthening national security, developing innovative climate solutions and addressing key healthcare challenges. They will also provide mentorship to junior engineers and provide technical leadership across key programs.
Selected candidate will be submitted for a DoD Secret clearance.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Technical impact and leadership in one of our many technical domains through the design, development, and deployment of healthy software solutions that address complex problems in areas such as national security, healthcare, and sustainability.
Actively participate in sponsor work programs at both tactical and strategic levels by contributing to the development of comprehensive full-stack solutions, providing insights, and shaping strategic initiatives.
Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities for engineers at both the Department and Division levels, as well as in partner organizations, to support their increased impact.
Assist in identifying and developing new opportunities while actively engaging in the enhancement and work shaping of current programs.
Collaborate with sponsors and project leaders to understand their needs and long-term objectives.
Basic Qualifications:
Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.
Must be proficient in full stack software development with a focus on cybersecurity systems including system testing & evaluation and verification & validation.
Hands on expertise and willingness to develop software is required.
Ability to obtain and maintain Secret clearance.
Experience developing work programs, shaping work programs, and creating sponsor relationships, especially as related to cyber software engineering, intel, public sector, and/or DOD cyber work programs.
This position requires a minimum of 50% hybrid on-site.

Preference given to qualified candidates with active Secret clearance
