Summary

The Material Inventory Clerk is an entry-level inventory management role. Looking for a candidate with strong critical thinking skills and who works well with other people. No prior experience is required; all necessary training is provided. This is a growth position that could lead to many other opportunities at Ryder.

Essential Functions

  • Manage part deliveries, including scheduling deliveries, adjusting deliveries, and canceling deliveries

  • Monitor inventory levels to make sure they are sufficient

  • React to critical inventory shortages with recovery transportation plan

  • Input data into a computer system

  • Read Microsoft Excel spreadsheets and use logistics management software

  • Communicate via phone, email, and handheld radio transceiver with suppliers, GM personnel, and other Ryder team members

  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Flexibility to operate and self-driven to excel in a fast-paced environment

  • Capable of multi-tasking, highly organized, with excellent time management skills

  • Strong organizational, problem solving and communication skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Flexible work schedule

Qualifications

  • H.S. diploma/GED required

  • Bachelor's degree preferred

  • One (1) year or more administrative experience preferred. preferred

  • Five (5) years or more relevant experience strongly recommended. preferred
