WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
As a Nike Men’s Lifestyle and NBHD Product Development team member, you will work collaboratively with key functional partners throughout the Product Development process. These partners include Footwear Engineering, PCC/PMO Teams, Global Sourcing, Footwear Product Testing, Footwear Material Design and Material Development, Product Design, Product Management, Product Merchandising, Sourcing and Operations, and our overseas partners – both within Nike and external to Nike. You will report to the Footwear Product Development Director in the NBHD development team.
You will need to navigate the Nike matrix to ensure that our processes model and match Nike Footwear Development standard methodologies for product excellence. You are the key point of contact for our overseas partners and ensure that communication during the product development process is clear and accurate.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are seeking a Manager of Footwear Product Development to join our NBHD (Nike Neighborhood) Energy Creation Team. This role is essential for driving product excellence and fostering a high-performing team within our NBHD and Men’s Lifestyle Product Development Team. The ideal candidate will help lead the NBHD team by providing project and process direction, focusing on energizing key Nike footwear franchises that resonate with sneaker cultural movements. The successful candidate should have proven experience in footwear project management, along with strong collaboration and problem-solving skills in a product development environment. We are looking for people-centered leaders who are proactive, quick learners, solution-oriented, and effective communicators, demonstrating strong leadership abilities.
As a member of our Nike team, you will be expected to develop a deep understanding of our consumers' footwear needs and effectively address relevant and impactful challenges. This position will also involve building relationships and collaborating with teams across Nike Footwear Product Creation, as well as engaging with diverse cultures in various countries.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, experience or training
A minimum of 6 years directly relevant work experience
Experience working in Product Development or Product Engineering, Manufacturing, Marketing, or Industrial Design
High profile communication and influencing skills, including the ability to interact with leadership and cross functional product creation team members
Knowledge of footwear manufacturing technologies and equipment, tooling, and materials is highly preferred
Understanding of product planning, forecasting, and process planning with strong communication skills
WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON
As the Footwear Product Development Manager for Nike’s Men’s Lifestyle and NBHD team, you and your team will focus on creating Lifestyle products as well as highly technical product offerings for NBHD (Nike Neighborhood) Distribution channel and SNEAKER. You will drive product and process excellence within a team environment for your assigned projects and will recommend and specify the material, component and construction to meet key features and performance goals. As a Manager within Product Developer, you will also apply your understanding of sophisticated innovation concepts to the in-line product process and offering. You will apply your expert level of footwear technical knowledge to drive product creation teams through 3D Prototyping, Bottom Tooling, Upper Patterns, Mold Design, Chemical, Materials, Costing, and Manufacturing to achieve project objectives in an efficient, effective, balanced, and timely way.
Working on complex footwear projects, you will convert a project brief and a 2D design rendering into a 3D sample that meets the needs of the consumer as well as the needs of the business.
You will utilize your knowledge and experience to enhance product excellence.
You will engage in all phases of the product process to ensure projects are managed according to critical dates and completed on time, while meeting design intent, performance goals, costing/profitability and sustainability targets.
You will ensure that your projects are ready for the commercialization process and can ultimately be manufactured.
Additionally, you will manage a small team of Footwear Product Developers delivering both product and team excellence to achieve the overall business goals.
