Wright-Patt Credit Union Inc. Senior HR Generalist in Beavercreek, Ohio

The Senior HR Generalist is responsible for assessing and responding to high level personnel issues including employee misconduct, harassment, and discrimination investigations, in conjunction with the HR Manager. The position also acts as a senior resource to other HR Generalists and Talent Acquisition Specialists, leads special initiatives/projects, and recruits for the credit union.

  • Addresses employee concerns in a timely manner and assists the HR Manager in handling sensitive employee relations issues that have the potential for significant exposure to litigation. Escalates complex questions or situations to the HR Manager in a prompt and confidential manner. Ensures proper policies, procedures, risk mitigation activities, and operating controls are followed. Reports gaps in policies, procedures, and operating controls to leadership to ensure partner impact and risk is mitigated. (30%)

  • Assists WPCU managers with employee relations issues and setting performance expectations to ensure disciplinary actions and terminations are in compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Act as a senior resource and advisor to other HR Generalists and Talent Acquisition Specialists with regards to employee relations, recruiting, policy issues, and special projects. (30%)

  • Performs all recruitment activities, including selection and onboarding activities for all open positions in defined work group. Must be proficient in utilizing a variety of recruiting platforms to attract top talent. Works collaboratively with all members of the HR team and the Director, Social Impact to attract, encourage, and retain a diverse talent pool for all positions. Also partners with the HR Manager and the Director, Social Impact on community outreach with regards to recruiting. (20%)

  • Assists the Human Resources and Learning and Development teams with the development and delivery of in-house training for HR technical skills such as interviewing, diversity and compliance, and similar topics. Conducts formal presentations to ensure all employees and potential employees understand the value proposition offered by Wright-Patt Credit Union. (15%)

  • Assists HR department in all aspects of human resources as needed including answering questions on recruiting, employee relations, benefits, HRIS administration. Collaborates with other teams to ensure partners receive answers or resources as needed. (5%)

Required Skills

  • A Bachelors’ degree required in Human Resources, Organizational Development, or Business Administration, with 7 - 9 years’ experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. SHRM or PHR certification preferred.

  • Excellent conflict resolution and investigative skills with a keen eye for detail and legal compliance with employee relations matters.

  • Demonstrated experience in a fast-paced recruiting environment utilizing creative approaches to attract diverse and top talent.

  • Ability to create and facilitate presentations on various HR topics including recruiting and employee relations required.

  • Proven record of flexibility, accommodation, patience, and effective conflict resolution when servicing others is essential.

  • Demonstrated appreciation and commitment to maintain grounding in the overall business picture to anticipate and effectively prioritize the needs of customers (including the Director, Human Resources, hiring managers, partner-employees, etc.) are essential to success in this position.

  • Demonstrated aptitude and ability to learn and apply various software applications to office operations required. Ability to trouble-shoot application processes and effectively utilize technical assistance sources desired. Expertise in utilizing an applicant tracking system is required.

  • Ability to multitask while adapting to shifting priorities required.

  • Proven ability to maintain confidential information required.

  • Attention to detail required.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications required.
