The Design Engineer will be responsible for carrying out the duties of the Engineering Department, including design, research, prototyping, engineering documentation, estimating and process improvement. The successful candidate will collaborate with the purchasing and production teams on design projects. RESPONSIBILITIES

• Designing and developing prototypes and confirm designs with team
• Use CAD software to create models and drawings of products
• Research new materials and methods of development
• Organize and maintain existing engineering records
• Perform physical testing on engineering prototypes
• Analyzing and testing prototypes and each revision of a device
• Identifying deficiencies in mechanical processes and developing improvements
• Developing, initiating and managing all phases of projects
• Preparing documentation of critical analysis and providing suggestions for correcting errors
• Collaborating with Project Managers for proper allocation and tracking of resources
• Ensure components and assemblies adhere to applicable industry and business standards
• Consider cost and safety of new designs
• Supervising the development of computer-aided design (CAD) project drawings from junior team member

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering or related field
• 3+ years in mechanical design, prefer lawnmower or ag experience
• Extensive knowledge metal fabrication processes
• Understanding of current cutting tool technology
• Impeccable attention to detail
• Ability to plan, schedule, coordinate, and problem solve effectively
