Description POSITION SUMMARY : The team is seeking a highly motivated, energetic, and dynamic leader that will coordinate central fill, home delivery, and specialty pharmacy services within the UH Homecare Specialty Pharmacy. The successful candidate will have exceptional communication and organizational skills necessary to work in a successful distributional pharmacy. The focus of the position will be on executing the dispensation activities associated with distributional and specialty pharmacy services. This pharmacist would also support specialty pharmacy program development by ensuring compliance with URAC Specialty Pharmacy Accreditation Standards. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The responsibilities of the UH Specialty Pharmacy Pharmacist include but are not limited to the following: Serve as primary contact for central distribution operations out of the UH Specialty Pharmacy Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards, including URAC's Specialty Pharmacy Accreditation Standards Responsible for distributional operations of the UH Specialty Pharmacy including dispensation, insurance adjudication, and inventory management Verify patient's insurance requirements and coordination of authorization Provide direction for available financial assistance resources when necessary Coordinate with the Specialty Pharmacy clinical staff to ensure accurate delivery of specialty medications Coordinate and optimally dispense standard and specialty pharmaceuticals to patients Collect, analyze, and report data required to support al pharmacy operations Participate on committees related to Distributional and Specialty Pharmacy services Identify quality improvement opportunities to improve operational and clinical programs pertaining to pharmacy services Required For All Jobs Performs other duties as assigned.
