Job Title: Service Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Service Technician to join our team at the largest service center in the world. The role involves servicing and repairing pumps, rotating equipment, compressors, generators, light towers, and tools (APT tools). This is a direct placement position, where you will be responsible for disassembling, repairing, and reassembling equipment using measuring instruments. This role is strictly shop-based with no travel required.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble, repair, and reassemble various types of equipment including pumps, compressors, and generators.

• Utilize measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges to test equipment.

• Perform mechanical and electrical maintenance tasks.

• Read and interpret blueprints and schematics.

• Conduct repair and restoration work on rotating equipment.

• Ensure high standards of housekeeping and safety in the shop.

Essential Skills

• 5+ years of experience as a service technician, maintenance technician, or field service technician.

• Proficient in both mechanical and electrical tasks (50%-50% split).

• Experience with engines, pumps, compressors, and generators.

• Knowledge of blueprint and schematic reading.

• Skilled in using measuring equipment (micrometers, calipers, gauges).

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Field service experience is a plus but not required.

• Familiarity with different types of engines.

• Knowledge of manual machining, API standards, and field service practices.

Work Environment

This role is based in a large, well-equipped repair shop, which is the largest facility for Power Technique repairs. The shop is medium-sized with 25 personnel, including 11 technicians, 2 apprentices, 1 programmer, and office staff. You will work day shifts from Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with occasional overtime based on workload. The dress code includes steel-toed boots, jeans, work shirts, and safety glasses. The facility is located in Baytown, Texas.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Baytown, Texas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $68000.00 - $84000.00

Current employees have great tenure (20+ years on average).

Retirement 6% match, immediately vest dollar for dollar.
