Purpose/Introduction

We are seeking a qualified Process Optimization/Monitoring Engineer to join the Ethylene Unit Optimization team at our Cedar Bayou Facility in Baytown, TX.

Responsibilities

  • Lead impromptu process troubleshooting efforts

  • Support unit outages and start-ups

  • Lead cross functional improvement teams

  • Perform process/economic studies for projects and initiatives

  • Ensure the plant is operating as designed and optimized

  • Support site Performance by Design efforts

  • Provide technical inputs and evaluate recommendations for operational feasibility and compliance

Responsibilities (continued)

  • Lead incident investigations

  • Identify gaps and drives for continuous improvement in the unit

  • Run and maintain the economic model

  • Coordinate and collect data for Solomon Study

  • Track Lost Profit Opportunities for ethylene unit

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering

  • At least 3 years of experience in manufacturing

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook)

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in chemical manufacturing

  • Previous Ethylene experience

  • Experience in simulation software
