Overview

The System Manager for Sexual Assault Services is accountable for the day-to-day operations of the Sexual Assault Services department. Responsibilities include overseeing all department staff and programs, such as the 24-hour Victim Advocacy Program, Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner Program, Crisis Hotline, Child Advocacy Center, Counseling Services, Prevention Education, and Volunteer Program. The role also involves acting as a liaison with federal, state, and local funders, developing and maintaining grant funding, and seeking additional funding for program growth.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree with full licensure in social work, counseling, psychology, or related field (LMSW preferred).
  • Minimum of 2 years of leadership experience in staff supervision, budgeting, grant management, and community engagement.
  • Specialized experience in sexual assault issues, crisis intervention, and counseling.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care models and the ability to work empathetically with survivors.
  • Experience managing multiple grants and funding streams.
  • Strong public speaking and training facilitation skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee department operations and staff, including administrative and clinical supervision and performance evaluations.
  • Develop and manage budgets, secure funding, and maintain grant compliance and reporting.
  • Implement programs to ensure consistent, quality services for sexual assault and abuse victims.
  • Collaborate with internal departments and community partners to ensure program success and compliance.
  • Provide training and support to multi-disciplinary professionals and volunteers.
  • Lead community projects and events to raise awareness and funding.
  • Represent the program on community groups and state-wide councils.
  • Provide direct counseling services and expert witness testimony in court settings.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all relevant policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
  • Hires and manages all department staff, provides administrative and clinical supervision; provides staff job performance evaluations; and assures staff receives training to assure needed competencies. Supervises the SANE program Coordinator who oversees SANE medical procedures and records. Supervises the regional SANE program staff working across the region in Calhoun, Kalamazoo, Van Buren and areas for future development/expansion. Supervises staff who assist across the region by training professionals and volunteers in Calhoun, Kalamazoo and Van Buren Counties.
  • Collaborates with community leaders to assure strong, working relationships with hospitals, law enforcement, prosecutor's office, crisis hotline provider and other relevant community agencies and programs in Calhoun, Kalamazoo, Van Buren, Eaton, counties. Future expansion is planned in more counties in the Bronson service area.
  • Represents SAS, BBC, BHG on multi-county community groups and state-wide councils, task forces and committees to promote collaborative efforts to assist sexual assault victims.
  • Provides counseling and counseling-related services to program participants, in individual and group settings.
