Job Title: Fleet Mechanic

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Fleet Mechanic to join our team on the 2nd shift, Monday through Friday. You will be on call every 4 weeks once fully staffed, with compensation of $100 just to be on call and additional hourly/overtime rates if required to work. You will primarily handle preventative maintenance on diesel trucks and tractor trailers. Key responsibilities include maintaining refrigerated storage trailers and transports, diagnosing diesel engine issues, signing off paperwork for DOT compliance, and working with air systems. Preventative maintenance tasks include checking oil, coolant levels, belts, refrigerated trailers, and lighting. Adherence to company policies, SOPs, and Quality Standards will be covered during training. On your first day, you should be able to understand and perform basic preventative maintenance repairs and handle the necessary paperwork.

Work Environment

Fleet Garage on location next to Manufacturing Facility. The garage has 3 separate work bays and is heated during the summer. This is a typical repair shop environment. The facility is a milk distribution center for the entire state of Michigan and also produces Hudsonville ice cream. It is one of the top performing plants in the country.
