U.S. Army Reserve Command Supervisory Staff Administrator in Baton Rouge, Louisiana

Summary About the Position: This is a Military Technician position with the 79th Theater Sustainment Command, 321 Sustainment Brigade, 103rd Expeditionary Sustainment Command, located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Exercise supervision over the daily activities of a full time staff. Formulate plans and programs to insure consistent implementation of the Commander’s objectives. Provide advice to the Commander and staff on a variety of programs associated with carrying out the organization’s mission. Conduct analysis of programs and activities through the review of reports. Plan work to be accomplished by subordinates and set and adjust short term priorities. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes managing operations and programs for a unit in the areas of personnel and pay management, training, administration, supply, maintenance operations, information management, resource management, recruitment, inspections and investigations, public relations, and/or security; analyzing and providing guidance on directives, policies, or instructions from higher headquarters; maintaining oversight of the overall readiness status of subordinate units; and exercising supervision over the daily activities of a full time staff. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and Management Leadership Oral Communication Organizational Performance Analysis Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11). Current permanent Federal employees (to include permanent Army employees) applying for a temporary appointment will be appointed/converted into a Temporary appointment with no statutory return rights back to a permanent position.
