ALS Courier Part-Time in Baton Rouge, Louisiana

About the role:

The primary purpose of this position is to provide daily courier services as well as to being a backup to our inventory control team and assisting with bottle preparation, shipping, and sample management teams.

  • Provide courier services via the company vans.

  • Coordinate pickups & deliveries with the project management team and company clients.

  • Maintain proper service on assigned company vehicle.

  • Assist with bottle preparation & shipping and sample management teams.

  • Assist with inventory control activities to include receiving, supply ordering, stocking, and inventory auditing.

  • Perform other duties as assigned and directed.

  • Qualifications:

  • Maintain and complete mileage logs documenting each use of a Company-Owned vehicle, as directed, and where required.

  • Perform, record and maintain the daily and monthly inspections as required.

Responsibilities

About you:

  • Qualified applicants must have a clean driving record.

  • Must comply with company dress policy for client service positions.

  • Individuals must have a demonstrated ability to communicate professionally, both verbally and written.

  • Candidate must be detail oriented and able to closely follow laboratory procedures.

  • Candidate must be organized and effectively manage time commitments.

  • Good typing / data entry skills are required.

  • Applicant should be familiar with general scientific terminology.

  • Ability to multi-task and work as part of a team.

  • Position requires a flexible schedule to meet client & laboratory needs.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma.

  • Some college level science related classes or prior laboratory experience is preferred.

  • Must be able to pass a background/driving check/drug test.

  • Must have a valid driver's license.

  • Clean driving record for 3 years.

Physical Demands:

  • The ability to operate a motor vehicle in heavy traffic situations.

  • Able to speak and hear clearly while communicating with clients.

  • Dexterity in hands and fingers to operate equipment and handle glassware.

  • Able to lift 50lbs.

  • Must have average vision and able to see to read reports and operate equipment.

  • Hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone.

  • The ability to stand for intervals of up to 2 hours while working.

  • Be able to drive for 3-4 hours a day without distractions.
