Description
Robert Half has an opening for a Bookkeeper with our client in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Within this role, you will be working in a dynamic team and your primary responsibilities will be to establish bookkeeping policies and procedures, maintain accounts, reconcile entries, and prepare financial reports. This is a short-term contract to full time employment opportunity.
Responsibilities:
• Establish a systematic method for accounting financial transactions by setting up a chart of accounts and defining bookkeeping policies and procedures
• Manage accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions to maintain accurate financial records
• Reconcile entries and balance accounts to ensure accuracy
• Maintain the general ledger by ensuring all entries and balances are up-to-date and accurate
• Preserve quality historical records by filing all necessary documents in an organized manner
• Generate financial reports by gathering, analyzing, and summarizing account information to provide insight into financial status
• Create Accounts Receivable invoices, review payments received, and record deposits to manage revenue flow
• Utilize Microsoft Excel and Sage Software to manage and analyze data
• Conduct account reconciliation and month-end close procedures to ensure all accounting activities are completed within set deadlines
• Oversee bookkeeping and payroll processes to ensure accurate and timely completion
Requirements
• Proficiency in account reconciliation is required
• Experience with accounts payable (AP) is mandatory
• Ability to conduct bank reconciliations effectively
• Proven experience in bookkeeping
• Must possess strong data entry skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is a must
• Experience with month-end close processes
• Previous experience in payroll management is desired
• Familiarity with Sage Software is beneficial
• Must have strong organizational and multitasking skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
• Relevant certification or degree in finance, accounting or related field is preferred
