Telespazio Belgium Health, Safety, Well-being and Environment Manager in Bastogne, Belgium
Telespazio Belgium can count on almost 40 years of experience in Space Operations Service & Engineering activities.
We provide a significant contribution to the most major Space programs of the European Space Agency. Our core business is to work on the ground to build bridges into space, contributing to the success of ambitious missions.
Currently, we are looking for a highly enthusiastic Health , Safety, Well-being and Environment Manager who will work for Telespazio Belgium, Bastogne, in Belgium.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing policies and programs that promote a safe and healthy work environment for all employees. This includes identifying and assessing workplace hazards, developing safety training programs, and ensuring compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations. Additionally, the Health, Safety, and Well-being Manager will be responsible for promoting employee well-being through initiatives such as wellness programs, mental health support, and ergonomic assessments.
As part of the Culture project of our Company, the HSE Manager will play a key as Project Manager for this dedicated project.
For the DEI project, the Manager will ensure that safety and well-being programs are inclusive and equitable, addressing the diverse needs of all employees with a strong collaboration with all the transversal department.The Health, Safety, and Well-being Manager will report to the Head of Human Resources, Legal and Communication Department.
Tasks will be managed with the support, as needed, of specialised external consultants.
What is expected from you:
Developing and implementing health and safety policies and procedures that comply with BENELUX law and regulations Czech Republic, Spain and Italian legislations are a strong asset.
Conducting risk assessments to identify potential hazards in the workplace and taking appropriate steps to eliminate or reduce them.• Advising management and employees on health and safety issues and providing training and education on safe work practices.
Investigating accidents and incidents and making recommendations to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.
Developing and maintaining emergency response plans and ensuring that they are regularly reviewed and updated.
Managing the company's occupational health program, including health surveillance, monitoring, and medical examinations.
Collaborating with other departments to ensure that health and safety considerations are integrated into all aspects of the business.
Conducting regular inspections of the workplace to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
Ensuring that the company is in compliance with all relevant environmental regulations.
Implementation of the norm ISO 14001
Leading the sustainability development in collaboration with TPZ SPA to ensure the collection of the metrics related to the CSRD.
Keeping up-to-date with changes in legislation and best practices in health and safety management.
Working in strong collaboration with the HSW department in Italy.
For Belgium:
Missions of the Prevention Advisor in the CPPT:
Identify and assess workplace risks related to safety, health, and well-being.
Propose and implement measures to improve workplace safety and prevent incidents.
Collaborate with the CPPT on the annual and long-term prevention plans.
Analyze work accidents and incidents to recommend corrective actions.
Conduct workplace inspections and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Provide technical advice and reports on prevention-related issues.
Inform and train workers on safety and prevention measures.
Role in Social Elections:
Inform workers about the importance of elections for workplace well-being.
Support the establishment of consultative bodies (e.g., CPPT).
Ensure compliance with electoral procedures and transparency.
Encourage participation and representation of prevention concerns.
Provide technical input to facilitate social dialogue.
For the Netherlands:
Role of the Prevention Officer:
Conduct risk assessments and evaluations (RI&E).
Advise and collaborate with management on health and safety policies.
Help implement measures to prevent accidents and work-related illnesses.
What you offer:
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health and Safety, or related field
5+ years of experience in health, safety, and well-being management
Conseiller en Prévention Niveau 1 certification is a strong asset
Knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations and standards
Fluency in French and English
Strong communication and leadership skills
Ability to develop and implement effective policies and programs
Experience conducting safety training and developing education programs
Experience with employee wellness programs and mental health support
Experience conducting ergonomic assessments and implementing solutions
Proven capability in using standard Office Automation tools;
High degree of professional ethics and integrity;
Sound judgement and ability to analyse situations and information;
Ability to work independently and cooperate with different teams;
Outstanding communication skills.
Proven experience as Conseiller en Prévention niveau III, II.
Proven experience as Health, Safety, and Well-being Manager in a Company;
Knowledge of Italian and/or Dutch;
Willingness to travel to different locations on a monthly basis.
