Human Resources Generalist

Job Information:

  • Location: Barnegat, NJ

  • Hours: Monday-Friday 8:00 AM-4:30 PM

  • Duration: 3-6 month temporary project

    Human Resources Generalist Responsibilities:

  • Manage and facilitate the staffing process, including placing job ads, interviewing, hiring and onboarding.

  • Conduct background checks, maintain I-9’s and E-verify all new hires.

  • Maintain employee personal files and HR records.

  • Manage Paid Time Off in Paychex payroll system.

  • Work on yearly healthcare renewals and manage all aspects of the company healthcare including enrollments, terminations, and claim issues.

  • Investigate employee relations issues / conflicts - brings them to resolution.

  • Manage all workers compensation claims with Selective Insurance Company.

  • Set up 401K educational meetings twice a year and enroll newly eligible employees.

  • Plan company events to maintain good company morale.

  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.

  • Work with Paychex (payroll system) to make sure employee handbook is up to date and compliant with all local, state and federal regulations

  • Handle all FMLA and Temp Disability Leave Requests.

  • Supports management with whatever is needed in the workforce.

  • Manage the onboarding process for new employees including but not limited to generating key fobs for office buildings.

  • Meeting agenda for HR Meetings

  • Performs other duties and projects as assigned.

    Human Resources Generalist Requirements:

  • A Minimum of 5 years of related HR experience required.

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Conflict resolution skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.

  • HR certification is a plus.

  • Experience with hiring and onboarding preferred, knowledge of Healthcare preferred, strong interpersonal and communication skills, detail oriented.

  • Excellent problem solving skills.

  • Must be reliable.
