Babcock & Wilcox Enterprises Inc Field Service Engineer in BARBERTON, Ohio
A Field Service Engineer works independently or with more experienced engineers in performing inspections, tuning, operational audits, pre-commissioning testing on boilers and environmental equipment, and writes estimates and proposals. At this level you have become proficient in certain areas and are now billable to our customers for your work, have demonstrated an increase in B&W product knowledge and are capable of delivering training to customers.
- This position requires extensive travel (90%) including driving on client/customer property.
- Participates in FMC contracts, proposals and business development on a minimal basis.
- Interacts with customers, A/E's, vendors and sublet vendors.
- Performs "testing role" relative to Engineering Activity Orders (EAO's) and/or Engineering Design Orders (EDO's).
- Develops operating instructions with guidance from DE or senior engineer.
- Performs technical on-the-job training for entry level field engineers.
- May be requested to assist with recruitment at colleges.
- Prepares technical reports including service and special reports.
- Acts as team member or lead field engineer on OEM/SC startups and boiler inspections.
- Acts as lead engineer on condition assessment projects.
- Performs boiler operation duties, construction supervision, and outage management roles.
- May perform minimal field resident responsibilities.
- Supports Sales activities.
