Summary:

The Patient Service Representative (PSR) I is a support position and is responsible for creating a positive, caring, and helpful experience for all patient interaction in their respective departments. The PSR I is generally the first point of contact for patients entering the practice. The PSR I will report directly to the Northern Light Health Acadia Supervisor of Patient Service Representatives. Duties may be changed or reassigned by the PSR Supervisor as needs arise or department served.

Responsibilities:

  • Scheduling

  • Point of Service Collections including co-pays and co-insurance

  • Operational and provider support

  • protecting patient confidentiality

  • Submitting medication prescription refill requests

  • completing Authorization forms

  • Fielding patient questions

  • Process documents including scanning directly to patient charts, labeling documents for HEIS, triage fax requests to the Resource team via the Xmedius tool, mail distribution, and monitor full departmental stock.
