Technology (T ), as Siemens’ central research and development arm, has a critical role to play here. Under the leadership of the Chief Technology Officer and in partnership with the operating units, T develops Siemens’ technology and innovation strategy, builds and industrializes basic technologies, promotes business excellence through consulting and engineering services, and protects the company’s intellectual property. Technology is both a creative driver of innovative innovations and a partner to the Siemens businesses, offering them high quality research, development, and consulting services.

About our group: At Simulation and Digital Twin Technology Field, we strive to combine real & digital world, by building Digital Twins, work scope that encompasses mathematical modeling complex physical phenomena, sophisticated numerical algorithms, hardware (GPUs) and algorithmic (AI / ML) acceleration and deployment of digital twins on heterogeneous (cloud and/or edge) environments.

We are seeking a diverse team member to join us as “ Technical Expert - Digital Twin at Operation” role. If you are passionate about combining simulation and automation worlds, talk to us!

You’ll break new ground by:

· Research on sophisticated and innovative approaches to bring digital twins to industry shopfloor.

· Build digital twins and deploy them to support shopfloor operators and collaborators in monitoring, control, predictive maintenance of industrial equipment.

· Design and develop pioneering solutions that addresses end-customers’ requirements on process & quality control in discrete and process industries by demonstrating latest Siemens offerings on simulation and industrial automation portfolio.

· Develop, implement, and actively manage ‘Digital at Operation’ program roadmap by combining latest technological developments in the areas of simulation, edge computing, machine learning, GenAI with strategic business priorities of Siemens business units, in collaboration with other research groups across Siemens.

· Collaborate, research, publish and represent the research group at various internal and external forums.

You’re excited to build on your existing expertise, including:

· 8+ years of experience in research and development environment with at least 3+ years of experience in program/project management.

· Proven experience in development of new solutions or products specifically passionate about digitalization for discrete or process industries.

· Deep understanding of simulation frameworks, model-based engineering systems. Familiarity with any one of the Siemens simulation tools such as NX, StarCCM+, Process Simulate, Tecnomatix, Amesim, gPROMS etc is a plus.

· Good understanding of industrial automation systems, cloud / edge platforms. Familiarity with Siemens automation portfolio is a plus.

· Knowledge of architectural design and implementation of distributed software systems (micro-services, cloud platforms, data streaming protocols, virtualization, containerization etc.).

· Sound expertise in any one of the programming languages – C, C++, Python, Go. Experience with DevOps tools.

· Certification in project management and familiarity with agile practices would be a plus.

What else do you need?

· Bachelor’s or master’s in computer science/mechanical/Instrumentation/Chemical Engineering.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

· Highly motivated individual with a ‘can-do’ attitude.
