Database Team Leader Position - India

Company Overview

We are a leading provider of enterprise-level software solutions seeking an experienced Database Team Leader to oversee our database operations and lead our team of database administrators in India. The ideal candidate will combine strong database expertise with leadership skills to drive innovation and maintain excellence in our database infrastructure.

Position Summary

As Database Team Leader, you will manage a team of database professionals while providing technical leadership in the implementation, configuration, and maintenance of our mission-critical database systems. Primary focus will be on SQL Server and PostgreSQL platforms, directing database strategy, and ensuring operational excellence.

Required Technical Competencies

Core Database Expertise

• Strong command of RDBMS fundamentals including DDL, DML, DQL

• Advanced knowledge of database normalization and referential integrity

• Proven expertise in SQL Server administration and maintenance

• Strong proficiency in PostgreSQL administration

• Experience with backup strategies and disaster recovery planning

• Demonstrated ability in capacity planning and resource optimization

Enterprise Systems & Reporting

• Experience with enterprise reporting solutions (SSRS)

• Knowledge of business intelligence tools (Power BI)

• Understanding of data warehouse architectures

• Expertise in database monitoring and alerting systems

Architecture & Optimization

• Proven track record in database performance optimization

• Experience in logical and physical data modeling

• Expertise in query optimization and tuning

• Knowledge of high-availability configurations

Modern Technology Stack

• Working knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure)

• Experience with cloud databases (RDS, Azure SQL DB)

• Understanding of NoSQL database concepts

• Basic programming knowledge (.NET/Java)

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field

• Minimum 8 years of database administration experience
