This position is for SCIEX team located at Danaher India Development Centre (IDC), Bangalore IDC is a research and development centre with the vision of accelerating product roadmaps across various Danaher business segments. Started in 2014, the centre now hosts 500+ associates, for multiple Danaher operating companies focusing on Diagnostics, Life Science, and Environmental and Applied Science segments. The operating companies includes Beckman Coulter, Radiometer, Leica Biosystems, Leica Microsystems, HemoCue, SCIEX and Cepheid.

The IDC workforce comprises of various product engineering teams, working on development of software and hardware components of cutting-edge products for, Immunoassay, Chemistry, Hematology, Molecular diagnostics, Oncology, Neurosurgery and Water Quality. IDC has evolved as center of excellence for Cloud and data analytics, with significant contributions to the key informatics solutions. The teams consist of highly hardworking software & hardware engineers and development managers. The teams are supported by local Product managers, Quality & Regulatory and Intellectual property specialists.

The inhouse teams works in close coordination with other global R&D centers at US, Canada, Europe, Japan, China, and Singapore. Located at the centre of Bangalore IT HUB, IDC is housed at state of art facility, measuring 120 K.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Translate task flows, usage requirements, and usability results into UI designs of varying fidelity, (e.g., artefacts at the conceptual level, storyboards, wireframes at increasing level of fidelity, functional prototypes) to effectively communicate design strategies. In so doing:

• Anticipate and prevent UX problems.

• Work with UX Architect and other members of the UX team to ensure designs are aligned with broader product direction.

• Expertise in core UX disciplines including information architecture, interaction design, application of design systems, and UI design.

• Work with members of the R&D teams to drive/facilitate/review design iterations. Capture detailed interaction behaviors in UI specifications used by product owners, UI developers, and verification specialists. 

• Develop UI artefacts that adhere to SCIEX’s digital brand and interaction standards.

• Adapt to changing scope and be able to communicate relevant design rationale to the wider integrated R&D team.

• We are seeking a highly motivated individual who thrives in a collaborative environment and can effectively manage their time to work across time zones with our North American R&D team while maintaining the highest standards in collaboration and communication.

  The essential requirements of the job include:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field with 8+ years experience working on commercial software UI wireframing and user journey

• Interaction design skills (UI control elements, navigational constructs, information architecture) - understand common desktop and web-application software UI patterns

• Experience with UI wireframing tools (e.g., Sketch, Figma)

• Knowledge/understanding of Windows Fluent Design System (material, animation, colors, shades, etc.)

• You will have a portfolio to demonstrate your interaction and visual design skills, as well as tell a story about when and how you’ve handled different design trade-off decisions.

• It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

• Experience in any one Desktop based instrument control softwares

• Experience in XAML and WPF desktop products
