Within Azure Data, the databases team builds and maintains Microsoft's operational Database systems. We store and manage data in a structured way to enable multitude of applications across various industries. We are on a journey to enable developer friendly, mission-critical, AI enabled operational Databases across relational, non-relational and OSS offerings.

Azure Cosmos DB is Microsoft’s next generation globally distributed, massively scalable, multi-model cloud database service. It is designed to enable developers to build planet-scale applications. Responsibilities

We are looking for highly motivated and self-driven individuals who are passionate about developing high performance, low latency, infinitely scalable, complex frameworks/libraries/experiences covering Cosmos DB distributed protocols, to be used by customers across the globe in business critical workloads. These workloads capture the needs of the hobbyist developer to the Fortune 500 companies.

We are looking for experienced software engineers with:

• Passion for building rich web experiences that delight customers.

• Good problem-solving, scalable design and troubleshooting skills.

• Self-starter, execute, finish and accountable for the feature, while maintaining a very high-quality bar

• Ability to analyze and clearly articulate complex issues/abstractions and technologies understandably.

• Willingness to learn and cooperate with team and ability to work independently.

Qualifications

Required /Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering or Mathematics or Physics or IT related technical discipline or in place of 2+ years of internship or 2+ years of industry software engineering experience

• 4+ years of programming experience Javascript/Typescript, .NET, JAVA, Node, or Python

Other Requirements

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check:

• This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred/Additional Qualifications

• Good design, implementation, testing and problem-solving skills.

• Familiarity with frontend development.

• Familiarity with high performance open-source tools and frameworks (e.g React)

• Familiarity with multi-threading, synchronous and asynchronous programming

• Hands-on experience at shipping a large scale, commercial, online-software solutions
