Ford Motor Company Senior Hardware Engineer in Bangalore, India

Do you desire to build a hardware for key driving components of Electric Vehicle? You will be part of Ford Global Advance product development team working with a design team to implement circuits, validate circuit implementations, analyze, and resolve hardware failures. You will be responsible to meet Ford’s quality, on time delivery and maintaining cost targets. You will:

  • Develop electrical requirements and electrical interfaces with cross function/product owners.

  • Design High Voltage, High Power circuits to meet Vehicle performance and efficiency, using Industry standard schematics and Layout tools.

  • Designing High speed digital circuits for smart mobility.

  • Perform calculations for worst case circuit analyses, End of life tolerance, Thermal calculations, alternate components identification & qualifications, with an eye for functional yet cost effective designs.

  • Execute and document function (PCBA bring up activities), performance life testing in to validate the design, on test benches & vehicles, working in close collaboration with SW, test engineering and vehicle engg. teams.

  • Perform and own functional safety work products (DFMEA, FMEDA, WCCA, FUSA)

  • Bachelor’s, Electronics, Electrical or Equivalent engineering domain

  • 5+ Years of relevant experience in High Technology Hardware design in preferably from automotive Industry

  • Experience in High-speed Microprocessor or High Voltage High Power based circuit design (Preferred both)

  • Experience in at least launching one design from scratch to Production with Product in field.

Even better, you may have…

  • Master or PHD degree in Electronics, Electrical or Equivalent engineering domain.

  • Experience launching products related to a production scale electric vehicle.

  • Knowledge on microprocessors, solid state memory, cameras, displays and sensors.

  • Experience in charge products

  • Solid understanding of industry-standard interfaces (e.g., LVDS, DDR, PCI, I2C, and Ethernet)

  • Experience with automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN, Automotive Ethernet)

  • Experience with ISO-26262-5 development process

  • Experience with identifying & solving EMI/EMC issues.

  • Experience working with certification agencies.

  • Excellent hardware and software debugging skills.

  • Familiar with test equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, temperature chambers, time-domain reflectometers, precision power meters)

  • Motivated and initiative-taker

  • Collaboration and leadership skills

  • Ability to communicate effectively with business users and engineering professionals (e.g., globally distributed teams, ability to adjust communications appropriately for the audience, work with all levels of management and diverse work groups)
