JOB DESCRIPTION:

SUMMARY:

This Program Manager – International NPD will lead cross functional teams (Product Management, Engineering, Operations/Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Customer Care, etc.) from various locations including New Zealand, Australia, Italy, France, India, United States, and others to launch a variety of New Products for Commercial and Residential markets. Supervises the work of program or project staff to ensure that work is completed on time or in accordance with established standards or specifications. Evaluates program effectiveness by collecting and analyzing data in support of key performance metrics. Ensures that activities are in compliance with organizational policies and any relevant external regulations. Provides reports and updates to senior management or other stakeholders.

CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Works closely with Product Managers and Engineering Managers to capture product/project requirements, scope and success metrics.

  • Leads cross-functional team - Product Management, Hardware and Software Engineering, Supply Chain,Manufacturing, IT, Customer Care and others to establish project execution strategy, timing and needs.

  • Continuously tracks project activities, risks, and issues to ensure programs progress on schedule and within budget while meeting established internal/external customer requirements.

  • Works directly with the team and functional leadership when needed to drive issues to closure, and/or escalates issues and mitigation recommendations to upper management.

  • Leverages existing tools and processes where appropriate and tailors them where needed to effectively execute across all functions. Mentors/trains others on the processes and tools when needed.

  • Resolves people and team dynamic issues for the effective performance and cross-functional hand-offs

  • Works with other program managers on inter-dependencies with other simultaneous projects.

  • Schedules and leads timely status review meetings, and formal project Reviews with Senior Management.

  • Ability to travel up to 30%.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS or KNOWLEDGE:

  • Demonstrated autonomy leading cross-functional programs from idea to launch using a structured process

  • Proven problem-solving skills, techniques and proficiency leading highly-accelerated and/or complex programs.

  • Excellent leadership and communication skills at all levels within the organization.

  • Business acumen and experience in business tradeoffs.

  • Tenacity in coordination of various-sized project teams to achieve program timelines and outcomes.

  • Self-starter with experience leading significant impacts on the project execution, processes and tools.

  • Courage to raise issues and proposed solutions to Business Leaders when a program is at risk.

  • Familiarity with a broad range of functions to launch products/programs

  • Experience with Microsoft Office tools, including project management software required

EDUCATION and/or WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Electrical and/or Software Engineering preferred, Operations, or Business

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in New Product Development, with a minimum of 3 years’ experience leading cross-functional teams

  • PMP, LSS, or other Program Management Certifications desired

  • Experience with Agile Methodologies a plus
