IBM Product Manager in Bangalore, India

Introduction

IBM Z Product Managers deliver business results by bringing high-quality products to market by defining the strategy and execution plans while continuously innovating to maintain market leadership. The z/OS organization is looking for Product Managers who are experts at market and business analysis, product definition, product roadmap, pricing, ecosystem, channel strategy, strategic planning, competitive analysis, innovation and leading cross-functional teams. They manage the product lifecycle from inception through growth, maturity, and end of life stages and define partnership and ecosystem strategy for product execution. Product Managers maximize internal and external relationships interfacing with design, product marketing, ecosystem partners, analysts, engineering, sales and services teams to deliver a successful product with defined routes to market.

The IBM z/OS organization is looking for a product management candidate to focus on either the Security or Workload Modernization spaces of the IBM z/OS product portfolio. As part of the IBM z/OS organization, you will work with key technical and business leaders with a specific focus on IBM Z technologies to enable new workload growth.. ,

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Product Ownership and Growth:

Your duties will be to drive client workload modernization or enhanced client security posture on z/OS and across the enterprise You will be responsible for owning one or more key initiatives, taking them from concept to production and working through the product management process and discipline along the way. You will collaborate with design, development, operations staff, and other fellow PMs to bring these initiatives to market..

  • Strategic Leadership:

z/OS Product Managers are responsible for owning business aspects of these initiatives as well as ensuring that technical requirements have been met by the appropriate teams prior to product/feature launch.

  • Strategic Partnerships:

As a member of the z/OS Product Management Team, you have the opportunity to manage initiatives like RACF, IBM Z cryptographic capabilities (ICSF), IBM z/OS Container Extensions (zCX), along with other Security or Workload Modernization efforts in the flagship operating system for IBM Z.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Championing the Voice of the Customer:

Demonstrate a track record of championing the voice of the customer. Your approach includes conducting customer-driven usability studies and hypothesis-driven experimentation. Product Management or Product Development experience, with responsibility for researching feature value, developing features, and managing the lifecycle of offerings, preferably on IBM Z or IBM Linux ONE

  • Passion and Curiosity for Innovation:

Exhibit deep passion and curiosity, driven by a desire to create innovative solutions. Your decisions are informed by data-driven insights that fuel your commitment to transformative solutions. AI experience to build from - The experience could be a wide range of scenarios, as a Db2 SQL user, analytics professional, a machine learning or AI advocate, etc.

  • Financial Acumen for Commercial Success:

Experience managing risks and resolving issues that affect deployment scope, schedule and quality, and communicating those issues to affected parties early and often Demonstrated communication skills in a client facing environment.

  • End-to-End Product Development Expertise:

Expertise in either the Security or Workload/Application Modernization topic areas. This experience could be a wide range of possibilities demonstrating an understanding of the IBM Z security space or the DevOps and application environment space on IBM Z

  • Stakeholder Management:

Solid People and Project Management skills, as this person will need to adjust quickly to get best results from unique or unexpected scenarios. Candidates will need to iterate product plans with sponsor users, knowing that some products will need to evolve from their initial MVP.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • 5+ years of Product Management experience, with responsibility for researching feature value, developing features, and managing the lifecycle of offerings, preferably on IBM Z or IBM LinuxONE.

  • Experience with using tools such at Aha! and Jira.

  • Experience driving business case development

  • Sales and/or marketing experience, especially in IBM Z
