Microsoft Teams is looking to hire a talented product thinker and executor to focus on next-generation collaborative experiences. We are a team with 300M monthly users and big and bold ambitions. 

Microsoft Teams is a chat-based workspace in Office 365. It is an entirely new experience that brings together conversations, content, and the tools teams need to collaborate and achieve more together. We believe it will transform the way people work and help teams be more open, productive, and fun. We will make the way that people collaborate on documents, tasks, email, and other forms of collaboration. You will reinvent these experiences by working with key partners in Office Clients, OneNote, Planner, SharePoint, and Windows to take advantage of innovations in both software and hardware. 

Teams search is a key experience to help users recall content in Teams. This involves improvement of core user experiences as well as relevance of the results by working with multiple stakeholders across Microsoft to make search best in class.

Responsibilities

We are seeking a Principal product manager with technical depth, product intuition and entrepreneurial spirit to drive our Microsoft Teams search charter.

You will establish a strong vision and roadmap, enroll execs and partners, and drive deep discussions at the intersection of user needs, experiences, and technology. You will work with a world-class team with a cultural emphasis on respect and inclusiveness.

•  Innate curiosity and ability to thrive in an ambiguous and rapidly changing environment. Self-starters and innovators with a positive, collaborative can-do attitude and bias for action are very welcome. 

•  Experience across the entire product lifecycle – from ideation to in-market success and the know-how required to lead your crew to realize your vision. 

•  Strong affinity and experience in user-centered design, UX design and innovating on behalf of the customer is required. 

•  Excellent written and verbal communication/presentation skills through all levels of the organization, technical and non-technical   

•  Solid understanding of web and mobile technologies, service operations at scale, and general ability to ramp up and go deep in new technical areas   

•  Great problem-solving skills and ability to think strategically and analytically to define and track success metrics for your areas. 

•  Leadership: Work with customers to ideate and deliver Teams search promises across industry verticals. Effective communication with quantitative and qualitative data to various teams across the org/company in monthly syncs and business reviews. Remove barriers to agility & enable the team to shift priorities quickly without losing productivity while driving maximum impact. Create a diverse and inclusive work environment where everyone can effectively engage, thrive, and do their best work.  

•  Driving Objectives and Key Results: Track and deliver on product OKR’s including those that have cross-org dependencies.  

•  Relentlessly champion and advocate for our customers in representing their voice across teams and be a change agent to develop innovative ways to resolve complex issues.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of product management experience collaborating with multiple stakeholders  •  Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent industry experience  •  Personal drive for impact: a desire to “roll up your sleeves” and make things happen  •  Strong passion and focus on delivering the right customer experience  •  Ability to build deep relationships with internal teams and customers
