Overview

As a Principal Applications Engineer you will be part of onsemi’s Intelligent Sensing Group, Industrial & Commercial Sensing Division which provides imaging solutions for a broad range of applications including barcode scanners, factory automation, security, video collaboration, robotics and autonomous vehicles. In joining our world-class CMOS image sensor development team, you will help define, document and facilitate the integration of image sensors into customers’ products.

Requirements

• A Bachelors degree in Electronic, Computer Engineering, Physics or equivalent.

• A minimum of 10 years of related work experience

• Working knowledge of digital, analog and mixed-signal circuit design (e.g. Logic, ADCs, DACs, amplifiers, etc. ).

• Working knowledge of solid state image sensors and device physics

• Imaging system design or technical support experience

• Knowledge of image capture, video standards, image processing and display technologies.

• Self-starter, team player and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Attention to detail and pride in development of high quality products.

Highly Desired

• Masters or PhD in electronics, software or imaging-related technologies

• Experience with image quality analysis techniques and industry respected tools (e.g. Imatest)

• Experience with CCD or CMOS image sensors, particularly in camera designs

• Experience in scripting languages (e.g. Python).

• Design and/or debugging experience of embedded hardware and/or software – particularly in camera or other imaging systems.

• Knowledge of image processing and camera control algorithms.
