Roles and Responsibilities

Role Responsibility :

Responsible for providing line management leadership to data management teams (CDC/CDMS/Other DM functions)

Ensures team deliverables to expected quality and timelines, provides technical oversight as needed, and mentors/develops Clinical Data Management Team Leads and other staff under the guidance of Manager/ Sr. Manager, Data Management or designee

Responsibilities:

  • Read, ensure understanding and adhere to all assigned ICON SOPs and working procedures

  • Ensure all work is of high quality, compliant with Good Clinical Practice, ICH Guidelines and all applicable laws and regulations

  • Complete all assigned training performed and courses in the ICON Training Management system (Cornerstone); ensuring that mandatory courses are all completed before the designated date and that the required system specific training has been completed for current studies.

  • Record all billable and non-billable time in the appropriate timesheet management system (e.g. Databasics)

  • Ensure effective resource allocation and workload balancing across assigned teams in coordination with Clinical Data Management Team Leaders.

  • Provide resource projection on an ongoing basis to Management as appropriate.

  • Support and Mentor Clinical Data Management Team Leaders and extend technical expertise on an ongoing basis

  • Ensure teams achieve productivity and quality targets, perform benchmarking reviews and perform oversight of deliverables using different tools/ techniques and maintain and report relevant metrics.

  • Identify and organize the training needs as appropriate in coordination with CTD.

  • Support recruitment of resources.

  • Perform interim /annual performance appraisal of assigned team members and identify gaps and propose development plans.

  • Identify gaps and suggest process improvements (internal/external) on an ongoing basis.

  • Responsible for administrative management of team including on time completion of time sheets, ilearn courses and leaves.

  • Support project management of activities supported in all locations, liaise with project/study teams, and escalate issues to local management and global study teams in a timely manner.

  • Represent Data Management at internal / external / sponsor audits and manage findings through resolution both operationally and within the Quality Management System.

  • Provide other general duties as required to support the company.

Supervision

  • Manage local data management teams to ensure project objectives are met within budget and agreed timelines.

  • Support and Mentor junior staff and extend technical expertise on an ongoing basis.

  • Manage staff and set clear goals and objectives

  • Perform interim/annual performance appraisal of assigned team members and identify gaps and propose development plans.

  • Effectively manage work priorities of self and direct reports, delegating responsibilities where appropriate.

  • Responsible for administrative management of team including on time completion of time-sheets, ilearn courses, and leaves.

Personal Skills

  • Relevant Clinical Data management experience. Supervisory experience including project management, resource planning, staff recruitment, performance evaluations, career development and training

  • Appropriate experience of at least one of ICON preferred CDMS (Rave, INFORM, OCRDC).

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

  • Proven leadership skills and played SME role.

  • Capability to work within a team environment.

  • Capability to manage competing priorities in a changeable environment.

  • Capability to handle stressful situations and deadlines.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

Experience and Qualification

  • Overall 8+ years and above industry experience.

  • Preferred if any prior people management experience will be an added advantage.
