Are you an ambitious and proven Finance Systems Analyst with experience in Oracle Cloud or on-premises implementation and support? As a Finance Systems Analyst at Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., you will play a crucial role in providing support and delivery of process improvement, enhancements, and change requests for our global financial and planning applications.

  • Work Setting: Flex/Hybrid; 1 to 3 times a week onsite

A Day in the Life

  • Support individuals in finance and other financial work areas with system related issues by problem solving or coordinating solutions to ensure smooth daily operations of the accounting systems. Must be able to prioritize all items in order to meet internal client deadlines. Supported application areas include Payroll, Asset Management, General Ledger, Intercompany, Accounts Receivable, Billing, Accounts Payable, Cash Ledger, Project accounting.

  • Research, track and write custom report requests for all locations. Requests range from simple queries created by the analyst to complex reports often requiring functional specifications and the coordination of efforts with the corporate department(s)

  • Develop and deliver training for specific modules, for all Financial Systems users globally

  • Develop and maintain all systems related documentation, procedures manuals, tables, code lists, etc.

  • Perform maintenance to include security, configuration, and routine auditing.

  • Develop queries, provide data feeds and various reports as needed.

  • Identify areas for improvement in use of system and reporting opportunities.

  • Evaluate, recommend, plan, test and implement improvements, enhancements and upgrades to the Oracle suite and other Finance systems and interfaces to other internal and external systems

  • Serve as liaison with IT staff and external vendors to develop and/or implement applications and analyze, troubleshoot and resolve programming or systems related problems

  • Provides consultative and technical support of the ERP system, interfaces, and integrations with other financial applications.

  • Handles system testing process, to include coordinating participation by end users and subject matter experts as well as developing or reviewing plans and test scripts.

  • Manage day-to-day operations globally with seamless execution across geographies

Keys to Success

Education

  • Masters or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Computer Science.

Experience

  • Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 3-5 years) or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

  • Oracle Cloud ERP – Financials Implementation, upgrade, maintenance and support experience (R2R, P2P, C2C. EPM cycles) is highly desirable but not mandatory.

  • Any support experience in a large enterprise using Oracle ERP will be favorably considered. Knowledge of Oracle Financials, Oracle SQL, would be an advantage, as will familiarity with reporting tools and relational database concepts (such as SQL+ and MS Access).

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Advanced understanding of finance systems.

  • Ability to provide positive end-user support across a global ERP system and global end-users.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in office productivity applications (such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Vision)

  • Strong business acumen with ability to understand complex organizational structures and environments
