Work Arrangement: Hybrid (3 days per week in office)

Job Purpose:
This role will be more responsible for managing the Commvault Backup and Storage Infrastructure
This is a technical role and will be expected to offer a wealth of technical expertise across the CommVault and AWS backup technology and Storage, and mentoring the team members. As part of the backup and Storage team, the candidate will also offer Infrastructure support experience across the Enterprise, with knowledge of other Infrastructure technologies such as NetApp storage and AWS cloud technologies.
Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
Responsible for the design and deployment of Backup solution and infrastructure in Onprem and Cloud
Responsible for deployment, administration & troubleshooting of Commvault Backup Infrastructure, including Backup servers, Tape libraries and Disk backup devices
Responsible for configuration, administration, monitoring and troubleshooting backup for servers, VMware, databases, network shares, and appliances using commvault
Installation, configuration and troubleshooting of backup software on client systems
Perform data restorations for server, file system, network shares and databases upon customer request and troubleshoot any failures to ensure successful data recovery
Performance monitoring, tuning and troubleshooting of backup infrastructure
Responsible for upgrades, patching and maintaining security compliance of Backup systems and software
Basic understanding of SAN and NAS concepts
Preferred to have experience in SAN and NAS storage administration
Basic understanding on Cloud concepts and technologies
Required Knowledge
CommVault Simpana – 3+ years
Knowledge of SAN and NAS storage technologies
VMware vSphere
Knowledge of Oracle and/or MSSQL Backup/Restore
AWS cloud backup and snapshot
Working knowledge on any one of these scripting language- (Terraform/Ansible/Shell/Python)
Additional Knowledge
Symantec NetBackup
Windows Linux operating systems
Working knowledge of networking, routing and VLANs
Working knowledge of Cloud technologies - Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure
Service Management tools – BMC Remedy
Understanding of industry leading monitoring tools
Practical experience in monitoring and tuning infrastructure to provide a highly available service
Strong understanding of enterprise architecture, system availability and disaster recovery
Person Specification:
You are an experienced Backup engineer, preferably with exposure to a variety of backup solutions. You also have a broad set of IT skills gained over a minimum 6 years working in an enterprise IT organization. You are experienced in implementing; securing, supporting and upgrading enterprise infrastructure, ensuring the infrastructure, which runs corporate applications, are correctly monitored and highly available as required.

Strong time and task management skills
Ideally educated to degree level, with a strong technical and service management background.
ITIL certification or other service management framework experience, including working with ITIL based Service processes and functions such as Change, Incident, Problem and Transition.
Strong customer management skills, including the ability to resolve disputes to mutual satisfaction.
Good documentation skills to present in any internal or external technical review forums
Good communication and report writing skills
Additional Requirements:
Ensure effective management of any outsourced services and functions through Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and contracts.
Respond to, and satisfactorily resolve, any escalated customer issues or concerns.
Work with other Technology teams to identify possible service improvements and implement these through the Change Management process.
Responsibility for working with the Service Owners on routine testing of backup, resiliency, and disaster recovery scenarios.
Work successfully with on and off shore team members to provide the best overall working structure.
