Position Summary

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under limited direction, this individual is responsible for leading Huron’s growing corporate IT security team. The individual would be responsible for driving various security projects and liaising with business groups to promote various security activities. They would also help the security team to connect with various business groups in order to understand their security requirements and cater to those needs. This role requires the candidate to work collaboratively with other teams in the corporate functions that includes Network, Storage, compliance and other related IT infrastructure teams. As this role necessitates communication within and across time-zones, good verbal and written communication is required. The individual should be dynamic, quick learner and should also have good presentation skills.

Qualifications

Responsibilities:

• Manage and lead the security team and their day-to-day proceedings.

• Help and guide the team with various security related projects and investigations.

• Create and present risk, performance, and project reports to the management and wider team.

• Serve as a liaison with different business groups to understand their security requirements and align the team accordingly to cater to those.

• Bring up innovation and keep the team up with best practices in the industry while also looking into bringing new policies and work practices.

• Proactively lead and manage various day to day security proceedings and provide inputs wherever required.

• Be available for the team during critical incidents and investigations.

• Review and communicate effectively the findings of any security investigations to the management and business groups.

• Improvise and update the overall security policy and procedure documentation including specific documentation for incidents and security assessments. Actively perform risk assessments and identify gaps in the defensive mechanism of the firm.

• Track and manage both short-term and long-term improvements identified through day-to-day operations, risk assessments, etc.

• Participate in wider security group meetings and provide inputs on various security aspects as and when required.

• Research various security enhancements and make recommendations to the team.

• Stay up to date on information technology trends and security standards.

• Proactive follow up on potential security risks and incidents with the relevant stakeholders and reporting the same to necessary security groups.

• Promoting personal and professional goals for the security team and brining in good ethics.

Requirements:

• Minimum of bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.

• Security certifications from ISC2, SANS, Offensive Security, TCM Security, ISACA, other renowned certification authority is a must.

• Good experience and understanding of overall cyber security operations, data privacy and assessments.

• Good Experience in managing IT/Cyber security team, administering various projects, handling audits and implementing security best practices.

• Strong technical background in vulnerability management and mitigation, incident response, and active threat hunting.

• Understands how security can work in conjunction with the business teams, performing security duties while also supporting the business requirements.

• Understanding of network security devices, including but not limited to firewalls, proxies, SIEM, antivirus, IDPS and their architecture.

• Thorough understanding of TCP/IP, networking concepts and internet protocols.

• Experience in application security assessments, code reviews and penetration testing.

• Experience in Windows, Linux, and Macintosh logging mechanisms including ability to identify and investigate machines during post incident analysis.

• Experience with process automation to enhance overall security.

• Ability to absorb extremely technical information in limited timeframes.

• Experience in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure.

• Understanding security operations metrics reporting and KRI/KPI evaluations.
