In the last few years India Global Services Group (GSG) has witnessed significant growth in onboarding best, brightest and boldest talents to CDM Smith family and assisting the firm in delivering exciting projects to our clients. With growth, comes the opportunities of new roles and leadership positions. The Global Technical Services Group (GTSG) has an immediate need for a Technical Delivery Manger (TDM) to oversee and manage a team of over 100 Infrastructure & Engineering technical professionals (Structural, Architectural, Automation, Electrical & Building Mechanical). The location for this position will be any one of the offices in India GSG i.e. Bengaluru, Chennai or Pune.

The TDM is a senior leader within the Technical Services Unit (TSU) dedicated to the delivery of technically superior services, staff development and project portfolio profitability.

Responsibilities:

Oversees the delivery of technically superior services.

Facilitates delivery and commitment of staff for specific assignments, in coordination with the Regional Team Leaders and global stakeholders.

Ensures technical excellence of the work performed as well as compliance with Quality Management standards and Health and Safety procedures.

Collaborates with other TDMs and Regional Technical Leaders (RTL) within the GTSG and TSU, as appropriate, to share work and staff across geographic boundaries to meet goals.

Staff Development:

Assigns technical mentor for each employee eligible for the Career Compass Program, in coordination with Regional Team Leader, and monitors pairing success.

Actively participates in appropriate Technical Knowledge Management (TKM), Communities of Practice (COP) and ensures that RTLs and staff actively participate.

Identifies and nominates, Project Technical Leaders (PTL) and in coordination with the global stake holders and RTLs.

Mentors and coaches, the RTLs working with their teams to develop their career as well as develop CDM Smith’s future leaders.

Coordinates annual focal point review process for workgroups under GTSG.

Establishes the technical development program for staff assigned to India GTSG.

Implements, through the Regional Team Leaders, the committees and societies plan, identifying papers to be presented at meetings and staff to hold positions on committees, all aligned with the strategic goals of India GTSG, Technical Services Unit, and CDM Smith.

Effectively recognizes employees within the Group.

Delivery:

Responsible for delivery of chargeable salaries, control of non-chargeable salaries, team utilization, operating income, indirect expenses and delivery of targeted actual profit margin of the work performed by the group.

Provides input to the TSU’s annual business and profit plan.

Assists Global stakeholders in meeting their sales growth goals, by providing the appropriate skilled employees.

Partners with other TDMs and the Global stakeholders to identify specific large and/or strategic opportunities.

Develops a long-term staffing plan that meets growth goals, while achieving an appropriate staffing mix along with hiring technical staff in appropriate workgroups.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in civil or related disciplines, Mechanical, Architectural, Electrical, Instrumentation Engineering.

Over eighteen (18) years of related experience.

Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Skills & Abilities

Team builder, communicator, motivator, positive/professional leader, staff mentor/advocate.

Capable of developing strong working relationships and partnerships with global stakeholders and other TSU groups.

High level of operational and financial capabilities including the proactive delivery of Client Revenues, Operating Income, and Profit.

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior leadership experience including managing large technical teams.

Able to promote a culture of collaboration, quality, and leading by example through CDM Smith’s Vision and Core Values.

Ability to demonstrate CDM Smith’s Leadership Competencies of promoting a high-performance culture, trust and accountability, building alliances, and continuous improvement.

Prior experience providing exemplary service to both our external and internal clients.

Demonstrate a strong understanding of the business (e.g., utilization, project profitability, overhead, staffing, etc.)

Master’s Degree.

Relevant professional accreditation.
