Summary

As a Printshop Manager, you'll support the realization of our screen and offset printing capability and oversee the operations and workflow of our print room, ensuring efficient and timely production of printed materials & custom graphics. Your responsibilities will include managing a team of print operators, maintaining printing equipment with the support of a maintenance specialist, coordinating print workflow, and ensuring quality. You'll play a crucial role in meeting both internal and external customer deadlines and maintaining high standards of print quality . The position will report directly to the Site Managing Director with a dotted line report to a global competence leader.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following

  • Setup and daily management of our Pre-laminate and card printing operation focusing on PVC, PC, PETG, recycled PVC amongst other materials if needed.

  • Team Management: Lead and supervise a team of printers, assigning tasks, providing training, and ensuring adherence to procedures and safety protocols.

  • Workflow Coordination: Organize and prioritize print jobs to meet deadlines and customer requirements. As a linking pin, coordinate with customer service, production, planning, purchasing, pre preso and other stakeholders to ensure smooth workflow and timely delivery of printed materials.

  • Equipment Maintenance: Work together with maintenance and suppliers for the calibration of printing equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime. Coordinate repairs and upgrades as needed.

  • Quality Control: Support creation and execute quality control procedures to ensure printed materials meet company standards and client expectations. Monitor output for consistency, accuracy, and color fidelity.

  • Inventory Management: Manage inventory of printing supplies, including paper, ink, and other consumables. Order supplies as needed to maintain adequate stock levels and prevent production delays. Work closely together with the supply chain team where needed.

  • Technical Support: Provide technical support to printers, troubleshooting equipment issues, and offering guidance on best practices for print jobs

  • Cost Management: Monitor expenses related to print production, including equipment maintenance, supplies, and labor costs. Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.

  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with industry regulations and environmental standards related to print production. Stay informed about advancements in printing technology and industry trends.

  • Color management

  • Collaborate closely with other departments to achieve set targets.

  • Follow and enforce the Assa Abloy Code of Conduct and ethical way of working.

  • Any other task that is assigned by the direct supervisor.

    Qualifications

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

    Education / Experience or Training

  • Extensive lithographic print industry experience.

  • Proven experience in print production, with a minimum of 3-5 years in a supervisory or managerial role

  • Proficiency with printing equipment and software, including offset and digital printing technologies

  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities, with a focus on teamwork and collaboration

  • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality control

    Language Skills

  • Ability to effectively communicate in the English language verbally and in writing

  • Ability to communicate in the local language is an advantage

  • Ability to read and interpret technical journals, specifications, international technical standards, etc.

    Computer Skills

  • Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

  • Knowledge of Agile PLM and Oracle EBS is an asset

  • Knowledge of Atlassian Jira is an asset
