We are looking for:

A Site Process Manager for our Novecare Site in Baltimore, Maryland (USA).

We count on you for:

  • MOC review as the Process Safety Coordinator and general oversight of the plant MOC process

  • Site TSCA coordinator

  • Site Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) lead

  • Foundations of the Future Engineer Recruiting, and development leadership

  • Leadership of process/quality improvement and debottlenecking projects

  • Technical expertise and guidance for new product introduction and capital projects

  • Participate on Plant Management Team

  • Oversee and assist updating and maintaining plant Manufacturing and Engineering Procedures

  • Direct and develop Plant Technical Team

  • Direct the development, implementation and maintenance of plant standard operating procedures to ensure compliance with applicable EPA, OSHA and Quality requirements.

  • Provide technical and process safety support to Operations, Project Engineer and Maintenance

  • Develop and implement process changes for quality, yield and process safety improvements

  • Provide technical support as needed by customers

  • Support the plant’s quality management systems and its compliance with pertinent quality standards

  • Review and approve documents that could impact quality as designee of the Quality Unit

  • Fully participate in plant HSE initiatives including performing periodic audits and housekeeping inspections

  • Instill discipline and accountability in execution of procedures of Life Critical procedures.

  • Enforce all site and Solvay safety rules and procedures within the operations, maintenance and engineering departments as well as contractors used in these activities

  • Assure appropriate HSE training is provided to all direct and indirect reports

  • Assure all safety inspections and audits are performed and documented

  • Participate in regulatory and internal audits as needed

  • Provide process safety expertise including PSM, RMP and PHA leadership

  • Conduct or direct the completion of investigation of incidents or near misses, as appropriate, and insure corrective actions are identified, assigned, and completed

You will bring:

  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering; or equivalent technical degree. Specific education or training in Process Safety Techniques and Analysis is a plus

  • Experience: 8-10 years of chemical manufacturing experience in Process Engineering, Project Engineering or Operations Management roles

  • Excellent leadership and organizational skills to manage, motivate and develop personnel and to facilitate cooperation between departments

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Good computer skills with working knowledge of Google Chrome, MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Project. Knowledge with MS PowerPoint, MS Access, and general understanding of databases is desirable

  • Needs excellent understanding and grasp of OSHA and EPA standards, concepts, and procedures relating to PSM, Life Critical activities, RMP, and TSCA

  • Must have working knowledge of OSHA personnel safety standards, especially the impact of chemical handling on process and personnel safety. Should have general awareness of air, waste, wastewater, and storm water environmental regulations.

  • Expertise in process engineering, process chemistry, and chemical process design

  • Working knowledge of mechanical integrity systems and requirements

  • Working knowledge preventative and predictive maintenance concepts

  • Working Knowledge of project management/engineering fundamentals

  • Working knowledge with computer based maintenance management systems

  • Familiarity with batch and continuous processing a plus

  • The U.S. base salary range reasonably expected to be paid for this position is $120,000.00 to $165,000.00. Since actual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted base salary range. Total compensation for this role also includes bonus and/or other incentives.
