University of Maryland, Baltimore Site director; Academic Abdominal Imaging Faculty Position in Baltimore, Maryland
The Department of Diagnostic Radiology and Nuclear Medicine at the University Of Maryland School Of Medicine seeks a full-time faculty member to expand our team of Radiology Specialists for oversight of operations at the University of Maryland Medical Center Midtown Campus (UMMC-MTC) and an active member of our academic Abdominal Radiology section. Theideal candidate is late in their early-career, or in mid-career phase with a desireto learn and develop leadership skills in a small urban hospital environment while taking part in an active academic Abdominal/Body imaging practice. This leadership position is for a board-certified Abdominal/Body Radiologist with strong interests in Radiology operations and management. This individual in this position would work closely in tandem with the chief administrator of the Radiology practice to provide high quality imaging services. The medical director would report to the chief of the Body radiology service and to the system Vice Chair for UM Community Radiology. They would act as a liaison to the medical staff leadership at the UMMC-MTC. Responsibilities would include oversight of imaging operations at the UMMC-MTC in Baltimore, MD. Responsibilities would include participation in the academic and clinical workload with time specifically allotted for administrative duties. The medical director would work with UMMC-MTC leadership in developing and delivering diagnostic imaging services tailored to the clinical needs of the UMMC-MTC. The candidate would function as a strategic advisor and subject matter expert within the standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines of the UMMC-MTC organization. Fellowship training in abdominal or body imaging is desired. Our clinical network is linked to the University of Maryland Medical Center, the heart of the University of Maryland Medical System’s Baltimore campus, by enterprise wide PACS and EHR systems supported by voice recognition dictation with seamless interoperability. The potential start date is July 1, 2024. Work schedule will have a strong focus on sustainability and a favorable work/life balance. Candidates should be comfortable with the broad scope of general diagnostic radiology including radiographs, CT, ultrasound, and MRI. There are no nuclear medicine or mammography requirements. The candidate should be able to perform fluoroscopic studies appropriate to abdominal imaging practice as listed below.
