Sightline is a multi-year initiative that leverages a cross-disciplinary, inter-entity team and hundreds of stakeholders in selecting and implementing the next ERP software platform for the Johns Hopkins enterprise, enabling broader operational transformation and the reduction of administrative barriers to mission critical work. Sightline’s scope includes changes in business processes, policies and other operating considerations that will make administrative actions -such as purchasing supplies and services, managing grant budgets, creating financial reports, and hiring and recruiting- simpler, streamlined, and more standardized throughout the enterprise.

The Sightline program is investing in and cares deeply about enabling this change through a dedicated team that will work across the University and Health System to engage and prepare the Johns Hopkins community for that change with communications, engagement, and training and development program.

Sightline is seeking a Sightline Educator II who possesses experience in training development, delivery, and eLearning creation. The Educator II will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering training programs, creating engaging and interactive eLearning modules, managing training designers and developers, and fostering a culture of continuous learning. This role requires strong presentation, program management, and communication skills, and the ability to effectively engage learners through innovative instructional methods.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

Training Development

  • Develop comprehensive training programs: Design, develop, and enhance training content for employees at all levels, ensuring the material is aligned with organizational goals, learner needs, and industry best practices.

  • Create interactive eLearning modules: Utilize eLearning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, etc.) to build engaging, multimedia-rich online courses.

  • Ensure learner-centered design: Tailor content to accommodate various learning styles and provide clear learning objectives, assessments, and outcomes.

  • Maintain instructional materials: Continuously update training manuals, handouts, guides, and eLearning courses to stay relevant with evolving industry trends and technologies.

Training Delivery

  • Facilitate instructor-led training: Lead in-person and virtual training sessions, workshops, and seminars, adapting to various learning environments and using interactive techniques to engage learners.

  • Assess training effectiveness: Gather feedback from participants to measure training success and implement improvements to maximize learning outcomes.

  • Provide coaching and support: Offer one-on-one or group coaching to reinforce skills learned in training sessions, ensuring practical application in the workplace.

eLearning Development

  • Design engaging eLearning experiences: Develop interactive and engaging eLearning content, incorporating videos, simulations, quizzes, and assessments to reinforce learning.

  • Utilize LMS platforms: Integrate eLearning modules into the company’s Learning Management System (LMS) and monitor learner progress.

  • Stay updated on eLearning trends: Continuously research and integrate the latest trends, tools, and technologies in eLearning design and development to keep content fresh and effective.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Management

  • Work with subject matter experts (SMEs): Collaborate with a range and cross-section of departments and SMEs to ensure training materials are accurate, relevant, and meet organizational needs.

  • Tailor training programs: Customize training programs based on the specific needs and skill gaps of different teams or departments.

  • Provide feedback and recommendations: Offer insights and recommendations to leadership regarding ongoing training initiatives and the effectiveness of learning programs.

Special Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Experience in the design, development, and delivery of effective training programs using a range of training modes and methods.

  • Ability to measure outcome-based learning and training program effectiveness.

  • Knowledge in best practices for adult learning and instructional design.

  • Proficient in the use and understanding of learning management systems (LMS).

  • Possesses skills in prioritization of work when faced with timelines, deadlines, and conflicting demands.

  • Experience managing complex training schedules, training logistics, and training budgets.

  • Effective collaboration skills, able to communicate and work professionally and diplomatically with all organizational levels.

  • Strong project management skills, able to work at the strategic and tactical levels, prioritize work, and ensure projects are completed on time.

  • Superior written and oral communications skills, able to demonstrate this in leadership and team presentations.

  • Exemplary customer service skills, able to demonstrate and instill this orientation throughout the team.

  • Diplomatic and innovative in effectively working at both the strategic and detail levels.

  • Excellent presentation, training delivery, writing, editing, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to prioritize work, manage team, and ensure projects are completed on time.

  • Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in an Education or related field.

  • Five years of experience.

  • Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree and at least 3 years of related experience preferred, including at least some experience developing and delivering ERP training in a medium to large organization. Additional experience may substitute for education.

  • Certification in Training, eLearning Design, or a related discipline is a plus.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and eLearning development software.

  • Experience in creating engaging multimedia content (videos, simulations, interactive quizzes).

Classified Title: Sightline Educator II

Role/Level/Range: ATP/04/PE

Starting Salary Range: $73,300 - $128,300 Annually (Commensurate w/exp.)

Employee group: Full Time

Schedule: Mon-Fri 8:00am-5:00pm

Exempt Status: No SAP Value
